This week’s spotlight goes to the adorable Penny & Gracie who are a fairly new set of Fur Friends! 💕

These two girls are always a joy to spend time with and never fail to put a smile on my face. Whether we’re out for a walk, enjoying some pool time, or just hanging out together, they make every visit special with their unique personalities and sweet nature.

One of my favorite parts of pet care is getting to build bonds with pets like Penny and Gracie and watching their excitement when it’s time for our visits. 🐶🐶

Thank you to their family for trusting me with their care. I always look forward to spending time with these lovely girls! ❤️🐾

People often see the cute photos, but being a pet sitter is so much more than just cuddling puppies (although there’s plenty of that too! 💜).

My days can include:
🐕 Morning dog walks
🐈 Feeding cats and cleaning litter boxes
💩 Pooper scooping
💊 Administering medications
🎾 Playing fetch
💧 Refreshing water bowls
🐾 Feeding Treats
📸 Sending updates to pet parents
❤️ Providing comfort and companionship while families are away

🐾 Had the best few days with my two favourite little menaces 😉 🐾

Oakley and Dewey kept me on my toes with plenty of neighbourhood surveillance, squirrel patrols, and requests for snacks and attention. Safe to say these handsome boys take their jobs very seriously! ❤️

A quick scheduling update: I am currently at capacity for overnight stays until mid-September, and availability is filling quickly for the remainder of the year.

I do still have limited availability for drop-in visits and dog walks, so if you’d like to get your pup on the schedule, send me a message soon!

🦮 Today marks the final day of the Not One More Vet (NOMV) Race Around the World!

My goal was to walk 100 km (62.14 miles), and I’m excited to share that I not only reached that goal but exceeded it by walking a total of 149.65 km (92.99 miles) during this year’s race.

I want to thank everyone who booked walks with Alicia’s Pet Care throughout the challenge. Every walk helped contribute toward reaching this goal while supporting an incredible cause.

With the warmer weather arriving, I wanted to share a friendly reminder about summer safety for our pups! High temperatures and hot pavement can quickly become dangerous and increase the risk of overheating and heat stroke.

During the summer months, I will be prioritizing walks during the cooler morning hours whenever possible to help keep your dogs safe and comfortable. If afternoon walks are necessary, I will always take every precaution to ensure your pet’s safety.

Summer walk precautions include:
• Shorter walks during high heat
• Staying in shaded areas whenever possible
• Bringing water and travel bowls for hydration breaks
• Avoiding hot pavement that can burn paws
• Monitoring closely for signs of overheating

Please remember at home as well — early morning and evening walks are always the safest option during heat waves ☀️

Meet Shelby the Great Pyrenees & the definition of a gentle giant 🤍

Shelby was one of my very first regular walks when I started Alicia’s Pet Care, so she’ll always hold a special place in my heart. These days I don’t get to see her as often, but I was lucky enough to visit her recently for a nail trim and get some cuddles in too 🐶

Watching this sweet girl has been such a privilege. She’s calm, loving, fluffy beyond belief, and truly one of the gentlest dogs you could ever meet.

As things ramp up for the summer months, I thought I would pop on and re-introduce myself so you know who your pets are being cared for by. 🐾

My name is Alicia and I am the face behind Alicia’s Pet Care! I offer professional pet sitting and care services for animals of all sizes.

I’m 28 years old and have loved animals for as long as I can remember. I graduated from the University of Guelph Ridgetown Campus in Veterinary Assistant / Veterinary Office Administration and have worked in the Veterinary Medical field ever since.

Almost one year ago, I decided to focus my passion on caring for pets in the comfort of their own homes instead of in a clinic setting.

When you hire Alicia’s Pet Care, you’re not just hiring a pet sitter. You are hiring someone with 10 years of veterinary medical knowledge and hands-on experience. I have training in emergency triage and wound care, medication administration including injections, nutritional knowledge, and Fear Free handling techniques. This means your pets are not only being loved and cared for, but they are also in capable, knowledgeable hands should any concerns arise during my visits. 💉😊

I always like to do a meet & greet before booking any stays, drop-ins, or walks to ensure your pets and I are a good fit and that everyone feels comfortable.

I am based in Tilbury, Ontario and service surrounding areas including Merlin, Chatham, Belle River, Comber, Stoney Point, Lighthouse Cove, and more.

I look forward to continuing to provide loving care when you aren’t there 💜
