And she asked me to remind all of you that your loving pets need you at home. So go out, drink green beer and do an Irish jig. 2017 SERVICES & FEES

I have made some changes to my services as well as fees. Please read the following and if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to call, text or email me. I am always happy to answer and assist.
In reading the following, please keep in mind that I have spent the last 3 years expanding my knowledge in all aspects of petcare and I will continue to do so. I like for my clients, current and future, to know that they are not just hiring anyone to enter their home. Yes, ANYONE can be a pet caregiver. But I believe that the person you hire to care for your pets in your absence should have a good understanding of individual pets needs such as behaviours, training and nutrition, be confident and qualified to handle any type of situation and have a healthy respect for both the pets as well as the owners. For my clients peace of mind as well as my own, I continue to keep current my police background check as well as up to date and appropriate insurance. This past year, I completed the Pet First Aid course with St. John’s Ambulance and obtained the certificate. I plan on taking more pet related courses as well as keeping current with first aid procedures. I am still in my apprenticeship for dog training and I am preparing to start calling my own beginner puppy classes later this year.
With all this being said, I am still a wife and mother of 3 as well as flesh mom to 3 dogs, 3 cats and a snake. My schedule - thanks to my amazing clients, friends and family who have sent me countless referrals - has become more than I can handle! I absolutely refuse to compromise the quality of my care for the quantity of work. Not to mention maintain a healthy family life. I, much like (almost) everyone, have (many) mouths to feed and bills to pay. If there was a way to make my business a charitable hobby, believe me, I would. I absolutely LOVE what I do and I want to continue on this path for as long as my body, soul & bank account will allow. I know I am not the most inexpensive pet caregiver in this area but your pets (and some humans) will tell you that I am worth every penny.

Well, I'm back!
Jamaica went too fast. But I am happy to see all of my buddies this week!

Just a few things to note:

* Please keep in mind while reading the following post that my business is my job. Being self employed can be a challenge. When a job gets cancelled, I don't get paid. I do not work for a company, paid an hourly wage, receive vacation pay or have benefits. This job pays my bills, puts food in my family's stomachs, and helps keep a roof over our heads. Just like everyone else. I also claim every job and do my taxes just like you. My business is a legitimate and insured business that I have worked very hard for. I provide clients with comfort and trust in knowing that I am a professional by continuing to insure myself as well as keep up to date back ground checks on myself and anyone I recommend services from.
I chose this path because I love animals and I enjoy making their lives, as well as their humans lives happier and easier. I'm good at what I do and there is a demand for my services. I've successfully managed to put my passion to work and make a career of it.
When you book me, I have to decline any others asking for your time slot with me. When you cancel, that's lost work and wage for me. It's generally VERY difficult for me to fill that time after a cancellation.
You pay me to take the very best care of your home and everything in it. You pay me for my high standard of service, my abilities and most of all, the genuine and sincere care I have for your pets. Booking me and then cancelling because a friend or family member can do my job for free is a wonderful and kind gesture on their part. And I can completely understand the value of saving a buck. However, this is my job. Not a hobby. Not a side thing to do in my spare time. Just like everyone else in the working world, it's very frustrating and disheartening when employment is taken from you and you are replaced with a "cheaper" solution.
I work hard. I take this job very seriously. I have amazing clients to whom I cannot thank enough for keeping me busy and trusting in me. I price my services accordingly, comparably and am extremely fair. I would like to continue to keep my prices affordable for everyone.
Therefore, after much consideration and past experience, I am now requiring a non refundable deposit upon booking pet checks as well as house & pet sitting.
- 20% deposit for pet checks
- 30% deposit for house & pet sitting
I am no longer able to hold dates. When inquiring about dates, those dates must be confirmed within 3 days of inquiry. Deposit will be taken with confirmation. Cash or e-transfers only. Receipt of payment will be given for deposits.

Payment changes:

Pet Checks:
20% deposit paid at booking
30% of total payment due on first day of service
Remainder of fee to be paid when I return your key. Within 3 days of your return.

House & Pet Sitting:
30% deposit paid at booking
30% of total payment due on the first day of service
Remainder to be paid with key return and must be within 3 days of your return.

This time next week, I will be on MY very own vacation!!
I will be leaving for Jamaica very VERY early Friday, May 20. I will be responding to any and all work related inquiries I receive during my vacation on May 30th.

To my clients:

As most of you are aware, my grandmothers health has not been well. She went into renal failure a few weeks ago. It's been progressing quicker than anticipated at first.
She was given a very short amount of time left with us here.
I fully intend to keep working but am keeping my schedule fairly light. Please bare with me during this time as I may have to cancel some walks and check ins. I will do my best to give as much notice as possible. Any house/pet sitting jobs I have committed to will be kept as is.
