Lads… this one feels mental to even say.

When I started Shady Seas Aquatics, it was just me, a few shrimp tanks, a head full of mad ideas, and the hope that maybe I could build something real from a basement shrimp room.

No big company.
No fancy shop.
No massive budget.

Just water changes, test kits, late nights, dead shrimp lessons, baby shrimp wins, mistakes, learning, and a brand I actually believe in.

And now look at this.

The first Shady Seas hats are here.
The stickers are here.
The Skrimp Bible is printed.
The logo is no longer just sitting on my phone or on a screen.

People can actually wear it.
Stick it on their tanks.
Rep the colony.
Be part of the start of something.

That is honestly mad to me. 🧢🦐

This brand started with shrimp, but it’s becoming more than shrimp.

It’s for the people who are building something from nothing.
The people who are learning as they go.
The people who don’t have a perfect setup yet, but they’re trying.
The people who mess up, fix it, and keep going.
The people who know that tiny shrimp can teach big lessons.

Well… this was unexpected 😂🦐

I wore my Shady Seas Aquatics hat to work today and somehow accidentally sold 5 hats.

I didn’t even plan on selling them — people just saw the logo, asked about them, and next thing I know… the shrimp empire has merch.

So I’m officially taking a small round of pre-orders.

Another Shady Seas fish room upgrade done 🦐🌊

Picked up the rubber floor mats for the tank area today. Not glamorous, but this is the kind of stuff that turns a bunch of tanks in a basement into a proper little shrimp room.

The goal is simple: protect the floor, reduce vibration, make the setup safer, and keep everything cleaner as the room grows. Between the mats, pond liner, drip protection, and dehumidifier, we’re building this the right way — one step at a time.

Shrimp rooms aren’t built overnight. They’re built piece by piece, usually while questioning every dollar spent 😂

But this is how Shady Seas gets stronger.

Big Shady Seas upgrade today 🦐🌊

Picked up a 50-pint dehumidifier for the fish room because this setup is getting serious now. More tanks means more water, more humidity, and more responsibility — so we’re staying ahead of it before it becomes a problem.

This isn’t just about keeping tanks running. It’s about building a proper, clean, controlled shrimp room the right way. Floor protection, humidity control, safer setup, healthier tanks.

One step closer to the Shady Seas shrimp room becoming a real little operation.
