Pulling the names for our giveaway baskets!

For long time followers of Wandering Whiskers you may notice our draw looks a little different this time. Our usual dedicated volunteer Ava, who normally pulls the names, is out of commission for a while. Please keep her in your thoughts! But Ava assured us that the kitties would be a fine substitute for her, this time 😉.

We are absolutely blown away by the incredible kindness and generosity of our community!! Since posting about our kitties in need, we have received $2,660 in donations! That means we are 85% of the way there and $440 remains.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, brings us closer to securing and paying for the care these sweet cats deserve. To everyone who has donated and shared the post, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Since so many of you shared last time, our post was seen by a generous donor who decided to donate $1500 to cover the cost of the 3 dentals!! We are so beyond grateful for this support and generosity💕

We know so many of you have been rooting for Leave The Cannoli. We are thrilled to share that they went in for their leg amputation surgery and are doing well. They are currently resting up, healing, and getting all the love they deserve❤️. Your support directly helps these kitties get the care they need.

Hey everyone, we are facing some big vet bills with some of our recent intakes. In total, we are facing $3,100 in veterinary costs. We want to ensure any kitty who comes into our rescue receives the best care possible but we need our community's support to help us pay for these surgeries.

Big Chungus, Moo Cow, and Creamsicle Swirl are all suffering from severe dental disease. Each of them requires a dental extraction to remove infected, painful teeth so they can finally eat comfortably again. These surgeries are estimated at $500 for each cat.

We also have a heartbreaking emergency case. One of our sweet kitties, Leave The Cannoli, came into our care with a displaced femoral fracture and two pelvic fractures. The injuries are severe, and the most humane, pain-relieving option to save their life is a leg amputation. The estimated cost is $1600.

No amount is too small. Whether you can give $5 or cover the cost of a dental extraction, every single dollar goes directly to their surgeries.

Today’s kitty spotlight- Friends-off

But now…..friends back on!!!!! Absolutely no hot and cold with this darling girl! Once she trusts you, call it a day! She will wrap herself around your neck and act as though you are her one and only! When she first came to the rescue, she was angry. She wasn’t even a frenemy at that point, she was just hands off. Lots of treats, lots of soft singing, and lots of trust building has happened over the last few months. Now this girl calls to anyone who will listen to her trills, and with very slight hesitation, enjoys anyone who has been visiting her!! We are so thrilled to call this girl our friend, and to have been apart of her journey in trusting hoomans once again! She is just under two years old and ready to find her forever hooman to snuggle up with, and eat many, many treats with!!

Today’s kitty spotlight- Moose Tracks

More than an ice cream flavour, this boy is an indulgent treat!!! He is extremely crave-worthy with that adorable face, and hard to get attitude! Right now his fudge ripple swirls are laced with displeased hisses if his treats aren’t delivered on time, but we see through that facade! He absolutely loves to eat his creamy licky treats off our fingers, and quite often ask for seconds and thirds! He pretends that he doesn’t want his daily bum pats, but his rising bum tells us a different story! This 7 month old boy will be shy at first, but he will be the purrfect homes best buddy, and plate cleaner extraordinaire!!

All that glitters and all that shines!!!! Whoa! What a cuddly, funny, attention seeking little tortie! She prances, she dances, she puts her best buddy Shrimpy in his place, could you ask for anything more?!! Such personality in this dainty dame, mixed with an adorable little smush-nose! This petite little 7 month old girl will razzle and dazzle her way into your heart, and she won’t be sorry, at all!

Today’s kitty spotlight- Swag Bag

Not just one, but a whole lot of goodies come in this after-party swag bag!! This beautiful panther girl is sweet, affectionate, enjoys cuddling, playful, and enjoys the company of other kitties with the right introduction! Swag Bag enjoys a quieter home, where streamers aren’t being tossed, and music isn’t blasting. Even though she is the best part of the party, as is the food, she rather curl up with her hoomans and enjoy some soft music, and comfy bed time snuggles! She is right around 5 years old, and patiently waiting for her forever home!!

Today’s kitty spotlight- Splish-Splash

Splish-splash, splish-splash, that’s the sound of the water as I flick it out of my bowl. Why do I do this?! I like attention, and I like fresh water! Every time I make this splish-splash noise, the ladies say “oh you sweet girl, stop making a mess”. I have no idea what they are saying, but I do know I get extra pets, and extra kisses, so…..yeah, im going to keep up with the splish-splashing! And, I’m going to pretend I have no idea that doing this equals extra love!!

Splash-Splash is right around 11 months, enjoys other kitties, and is a very playful and easy going girl!
