Meet ‘N Greet Monday: Brennin

Helloooo! Allow me to introduce myself. I’m Brennin! I’m a 17 year old Welsh pony, bred by Savannah’s mom, Yvonne! When I was 9 years old I was sold to a lovely family with young children. Fast forward many years later and all of my littles are no longer little. So, I’ve returned to the Rijk Family to teach more littles how to ride. I’m about the cutest pony you’ll ever meet, and I love my job. I teach the intermediate littles to ride. I’m very good at teaching them to refine their aids and ride with confidence! I love to be fussed over and told I’m a good boy. And if you give me apple chunk treats, I promise to lick your hand forever! Fun fact about me: when the weather is nice and warm, I love grazing with the kids after our lessons. When I’m not teaching littles how to ride, you can find me in paddock 1, hanging out with the pony posse.

Monday Meet N’ Greet!

Hi barn friends! My name is Topaz, I’m a Connemara x and official boss mare. I teach our intermediate – advanced riders, a job I like to think I do extremely well! I know all of the aids and I don’t mind saying I can be rather fancy. But, I’ll make you work for it which is why I’m great at teaching the intermediate/advanced riders. Tough job, but someone’s gotta do it. Some might call me a dressage diva, and I would say they have great taste, because when my beautiful silvery coat, mane and tail are scrubbed up – which takes a lot of elbow grease and a full bottle of purple shampoo – I’m kind of a unicorn. I’m not super cuddly, because I have a reputation to protect. But I do enjoy carrots. Especially the ones with the green ends. Oh, and as a side note, I HATE fly spray. When I’m not busy teaching students to ride, you can find me in paddock 1 grazing with my bff, Joey and keeping everyone in check.

Spots available in our Riding Program.

We are proud to offer our very own curriculum based scaffolded riding program. Expectations for each level are clearly outlined for parents and students. Instruction is driven by curriculum content to ensure a well rounded education in horsemanship and mounted skill. Additionally, we are launching a Pony Club! This provides our intermediate-advanced young riders with the opportunity to form a partnership with one of our ponies. Pony Club includes 1 lesson and 2 practice rides pet week. For more information, please contact us! Whether your goals are to ride for fun or to become competitive, we're here to pass along our knowledge and experience in a fun, safe, and supportive environment.

Introducing: Meet ‘N Greet Mondays!

Anouck van Ooijen
Andromeda Riding Academy Dressage Coach

Originally from the Netherlands, Anouck joined the Andromeda Equestrian Team in April 2024. Her background includes competing at the 3rd level in dressage and breeding. Anouck’s experience spans various professional equestrian businesses in the Netherlands, including trading stables, stallion stations, and training facilities, providing her with extensive knowledge in training, competition, and breeding. She recently imported Shelby, her four-year-old mare whom she bred herself. Anouck is passionate about horses and teaching. Her enthusiasm is felt by her students and has allowed her to become a much loved and respected coach and role model at the farm.
