Troyan Schloss is a small breeding kennel with over 10 years of experience in training and breeding German Shepherds in central Nova Scotia, Canada. Our goal is always to breed to the German shepherd standard, the result a powerful, fearless, well proportioned efficient working dog and a faithful companion. We are dedicated to maintaining the German shepherd breed, providing some of the best Germa

n bloodlines in the world. Troyan Schloss German shepherds, both puppies and adults, receive socialization at a young age. Adults are certified against hip and elbow dysplasia before entering the breeding program. We are committed to our dogs. In the end the final decision is up to you. We will do our very best to inform you and guide you. When you make your decision we will provide you with an outstanding German shepherd.

💯Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty, and persistence.

We have just returned from a show weekend in Truro, Nova Scotia. We are ecstatic about the placements from the judges.
Elton dei Precision won a best of breed with a group 1st, as well as 3x select male placements, earning 8 points
Siri vom Troyan Schloss held her own as well with 2x select bitch placements, 2x best puppy in breed, with a best puppy in group, earning 2 points.

We are personally committed to the rules and regulations of the SV World to produce progeny that stays true to the German Shepherd breed. Our goal is to present the full package that is the German Shepherd Dog—highly intelligent, with sound temperament, good health, and strong work ability to excel in Schutzhund, Search and Rescue, or as a Therapy Dog, while also being an excellent and faithful companion.

Troyan Schloss German Shepherds are grateful for the opportunity to showcase our beautiful German shepherd offspring as well as our rising stars at the Halifax Kennel Club show this weekend!

During the weekend GCh Elton dei Precision was award 2x male select, while earning 2pts towards his Bronze Canadian Championship at an impressive young age of 18 months.

Kandy vom Troyan Schloss returned to the show ring earning a best of opposite and female select earning 3 pts.

Rising star Siri vom Troyan Schloss earned 4x best puppy in breed, 1x winner female along with a best of opposite of specials for 3 pts.

The Lines of the German Shepherd Dog
Not all German Shepherds are the same—and understanding the differences between the lines helps explain why they look, move, and behave so uniquely.

Here’s a brief breakdown of the main types:

🐾 Czech Working Line – Known for high drive, stamina, and intensity. Bred primarily for border patrol and military use.

🐾 East German (DDR) Working Line – Very loyal, intense, and compactly built. Developed under strict government breeding programs.

🐾 West German Working Line – A more balanced drive with strong structure and nerves, built for both sport and work.

🐾 American Show Line – Often more angulated with a flowing gait, bred for looks and companionship.

🐾 West German Show Line – Our line of choice. These dogs are bred to meet the highest breed standard for both beauty and temperament. They’re elegant yet powerful, loyal yet social, and have a natural instinct to protect their family without being overly intense.

At Troyan Schloss German Shepherds, we exclusively work with the West German Show Line because we believe it offers the perfect combination of structure, health, trainability, and temperament for both family life and conformation excellence.

We do not breed or house any dogs from other lines.
