Welcome to Pet Planet Ryders Square

Opened June 2nd, 2012 serving Central Alberta including, but not limited to, Sylvan Lake, Eckville, Benalto, Markerville, Rimbey, Red Deer County and Lacombe County. We are located in Ryder Square, between The Source and Sobey's Liquor Store; south of Alberta Treasury Branch and west of the Royal Bank. After making the decision as a family to take this career

path we are extremely happy to be a part of the Pet Planet family as we share the same philosophies and love of animals. We love helping pet guardians find what they need for their pets. Having, Fancy (3 year old Pom) and Nick (14 year old J R)working with us is great. Patches (6 year old calico) is happy to stay back & guard the fort.

It's no coincidence that Pet Planet was born in Canada: a country built on care, community, and doing right by others; the only place a store like ours could truly take root.

30 years ago, our first store opened in Alberta. We gathered pet brands worth trusting, built a community of Guardians who loved their animals as fiercely as we did, and created something that looks less like a store and more like the world your pets deserve.

From the beginning, Pet Planet has been about giving guardians a world of better choices. Each step started with the same questions: how can we help the animals we love live longer? How can we keep our pets healthy? How can we make them happy?

We partnered with pet brands that also ask these questions and only included those in our stores.

After 30 years, these choices transformed Pet Planet from a mere store into a world dedicated entirely to your pet's well-being. And this is just the start, because we believe the whole world should be one built for pets.

In 1996, we looked around and saw a pet industry that didn't care: stores didn't care that rawhide was bad for animals, didn't explain the difference between foods, and didn't prioritize the pets they served.

So we decided to change that. Pet Planet was created to be a place where care came first: no harmful products or ingredients, healthy foods that came with explanations, and a commitment to put your animals first.

30 Years later, we're renewing our promise to give pets a world where they live longer, healthier, and happier lives.
