2026 is already flying by but I hope everyone is finding time to slow down and enjoy some time with their dogs.
This is the part of being a business owner that I do not enjoy however I have to make the tough call to raise prices. My accountant has notified me that I need to start charging industry standards or that I need to find a new career. Last year I looked at going back to working in a grooming shop or what else I could do for work instead of grooming. Both options are not what I want at this point in my life but in saying that it means I can no longer donate my time in order to keep prices as low as I have. This increase unfortunately will be quite large in an already crazy expensive world but I am hoping that my amazing clients can be appreciative that until now I have kept my prices reasonable and that they can continue to support me now that I’m charging my worth.
I will be sending updated pricing with messages when looking to book over the next couples months so that no one is surprised at pick up. Any pups booked in currently will be 2025 pricing unless I have spoken to you already.

Happy New Year! 2026 is starting off with some new tools to help me continue to provide the best experiences I can for your pups. “Groomer math” had me excited to save $150 on a beautiful new grooming table and which meant that when picking it up I could spend $600 on new scissors 😂
I still have a few spots available left in January and have started to book into February. I have many clients prebooking their next groom before leaving which not only helps me to keep myself organized (haha just kidding I’m a hot mess) but also ensures that they get the day and time they need to fit their schedules.
I have a few changes coming up for 2026 so stayed tuned. I will be tagging my business page on any texts I receive just so that people don’t miss out on info, thank you to those that already follow along. Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful warm weather.

As the snow flies this morning it has me wondering where the time is going! Fall has been extremely busy with no slow down in sight. I have a select few appointments left in November and my December is already almost full as well, with the week before Christmas fully booked already. If you need an appointment please reach out. Hope everyone is keeping dry on this rainy Monday. Just wanted to say that summer is as busy as it could be and I am booking into August with limited availibilty the first two weeks due to wonderful clients prebooking. If your pup is getting close to needing a groom now is the time to book. From now until October I am unable to take on new clients but have wonderful recommendations for other groomers in town if needing, please know I always appreciate the referrals but want to be able to get current clients in when they need it.

We have been busy around our house the last few weeks with a litter of puppies! They will be 8 weeks the end of July and there are four looking for new homes as my hubby says I can’t keep them all 🤣 Fun active German Shorthaired Pointers!

I am currently booking mid to end of April with limited availability and starting to book into May. Spring is looking incredibly busy so please don’t wait to get your pup booked in.
Prebooking summer appointments is highly suggested so that you can keep your dog on a schedule. I have had so many matted dogs lately which is hard on them as well as myself. I always want to send home a dog with the requested hair cut and not shorter but I will not brush out for vanity as it is painful to the dog.
Going forward I will need to charge an added fee for matting as not only does the groom take me longer but it is hard on my equipment and I’m having to replace or sharpen it more often. This will be discussed at drop off.
Ok enough seriousness…Apparently I am not grooming enough at home as my horse decided he needed to enjoy the spring weather. Luckily, so far, none of my grooming clients have been this dirty. 🤣

This weather sure feels like spring after that deep freeze. Messages are coming in fast with the warm up in weather and I’m booking into the middle of March. Let me know if your pup is needing an appointment. I am strongly suggesting prebooking for spring and summer as it’s going to be busy. Enjoy the sunshine!
