Food safety is THE priority at Perfectly Raw.
That's why we like to be transparent about our ingredient sources, so you don't have to guess.

All of the salmon we use is wild caught. It is ground and flash frozen within a few hours of being caught at the supplier's plant in B.C 🇨🇦, where it remains frozen for a minimum of 6 – 8 weeks before it is sent to us for use.

Our B.C. supplier provides salmon to a number of pet food companies and is very experienced in the science of quality and freshness control, just as we are.

When starting a raw diet for the first time, we recommend keeping it simple.

Whether you have a puppy, a senior, or any age in between, introducing your pet to raw food can feel daunting. Here's some tips to get you started:

🐶feed a single ingredient ground product for the first few days at every meal, like our Ground Chicken Backs or Ground Turkey (Bone In)
🐶after this adjustment period, you can begin feeding a complete and balanced product for every meal. You can find our Perfectly Raw list at www.perfectlyraw.ca
🐶feed between 2% to 4% of your pet's ideal body weight per day, if they are an average healthy adult.

What are some Do's and Dont's of feeding a raw diet?

Do: feed the best, freshest products available (we've got you covered there 😉)

Do: ensure your pets' diet overall is complete and balanced

Do: consult a holistic vet about a raw diet if your pet has any health issues or concerns

Do: Treat and handle all raw pet foods just like you would handle any raw human foods

Don't: give up! The transition period from kibble to raw takes some patience as your pet's digestive system adjusts. You'll also notice long term benefits like less pet waste to pick up, less trips to the vet, less shedding, cleaner teeth, and a host of other benefits.
