The SPCA Swift Current is a safe haven for lost, abandoned, abused, and surrendered dogs and cats. We are a no-kill shelter; we take in as many animals as our shelter will allow and we ensure that every animal can find a good and furever home. The SPCA Swift Current fully vaccinates (including rabies), neuters or spays, deworms, microchips and trains all of our dogs and our cats get socialized as

much as possible to make sure that they are more successful when they are placed in their furever home. We also have an implemented program called a "Test Drive" where you take an animal you are interested in after paying a security deposit, for up to 14 days and see if they fit in with your lifestyle, your home, and your family.

Bella is an amazing house panther! Kind-of like the Canadian House Hippo, but more cuddly!

Her whiskers have turned white with age, but she is an amazing cat and so grateful for her presence in our family.

🏠 WE’VE MOVED! 🐾

We’re excited to share that the Swift Current SPCA has officially moved into the Stauber Family Memorial Animal Shelter!

Our team is busy unpacking, organizing and helping the animals settle into their new spaces as we prepare to welcome visitors. After years of planning, fundraising and incredible support from across Southwest Saskatchewan, seeing this new shelter come to life is an exciting milestone for our entire community.

And we can’t wait to welcome you in! ❤️

While we’ve moved in, our Homeward Bound Capital Campaign isn’t finished yet. We still have approximately $1.5 million left to raise to complete the vision for this project.

These remaining funds will help complete and outfit the Stauber Family Memorial Animal Shelter, our future veterinary centre and crematorium, while also supporting the operating costs needed to expand our capacity to care.

For the animals of Southwest Saskatchewan, more space means more opportunities to help—but sustainable funding is what allows us to responsibly increase the number of animals we can house while ensuring each one receives the individual attention, medical support and high-quality care they deserve.

There is still time to be part of Homeward Bound:

🐾 Limited room-naming opportunities are available.
🐾 Gifts of $1,000 or more made while the campaign is active receive permanent recognition on the donor wall in the new shelter’s lobby.
🐾 Every contribution helps strengthen animal welfare services throughout Southwest Saskatchewan.
