Swan Valley Flood Recovery – Essential Appliance Assistance Program
Flood recovery continues, and we’re pleased to introduce the Essential Appliance Assistance Program to help eligible homeowners replace essential appliances damaged or destroyed during the June/July 2026 flood.
Eligible owner-occupied households may receive up to $500 per property toward the replacement of:
• Hot water tanks
• Furnaces
• Clothes washers or dryers
• Freezers or refrigerators
• Electrical panels

Who can apply?
Applicants must own and occupy the home as their primary residence, have experienced flood damage during the 2026 flood event, and be replacing an essential appliance damaged or destroyed by flooding.

Funding is limited, and if requests exceed available funding, applications will be prioritized based on established criteria, including consideration for seniors, lower-income households, persons with disabilities, families with dependent children, homes that remain uninhabitable, applicants without insurance, and those who have exhausted other financial assistance.

Applications are open now.
Applicants should be prepared to provide:
• Completed application
• Quote or invoice for the replacement appliance
• Photos of the damaged appliance
• Proof of income, where applicable

Application deadline: October 1, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.
See full details and application forms here: https://www.swanrivermanitoba.ca/p/swan-valley-flood-recovery-essential-appliance-assistance-program

Please note that funding is available until the program budget is exhausted.

If you were impacted by the 2026 flood and need assistance replacing an essential appliance, we encourage you to apply.

LEGION PARK IS NOW OPEN

Legion Park is now open to the public following the recent tree remediation work.

Visitors are asked to please use caution around the large logs located along the side of the pathway. These logs are part of the completed tree work and will be removed from the park in the coming days.

Please also use caution in areas where mud remains as it may become slick when wet.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we continue working to keep Legion Park safe, healthy and beautiful for our community.
