Remuda Horsemanship Program

Remuda Horsemanship Program "Nothing is as good for the inside of a person as the outside of a horse" Theodore Roosevelt. This combination distinguishes Remuda as a unique program.

Remuda is an equine assisted social skill development program in which participants are encouraged to develop pro-social skills through interaction with horses. The program concentrates on traditional horsemanship methods, used for thousands of years when working with horses, and combines them with activities and ideologies from existing Adventure-based learning programs. Remuda is a ten weeklong

program, with groups running twice each week for two hours each time. Although horsemanship is the main focus of the group’s activities it is not exclusive, experiential games and activities are also a part of each session and provide an essential link from the skills developed working with the horses and skills used in participant’s day-to-day lives.

We emerged from the cold weather , just a little wiser this year as the Remuda Academy was lucky enough to get to learn from some of the inspiring professionals that live in our area! We feel very lucky not only to have these people in our community, but that they would take time out of their busy days to share their knowledge with the next generation.
