Parkland County Animal Shelter Parkland County Animal Shelter and Enforcement Services is committed to responsible pet ownership in our community.

We deal only with lost or stray dogs/cats in the Parkland County area.
*We do not accept owner surrendered animals* Parkland County is a rural municipality located immediately west of Edmonton, Alberta. Our Animal Control Shelter is located in the Parkland County Services Building at the north end of Stony Plain, Alberta. Our shelter houses dogs and cats that have been displaced from their homes.

Our acceptance of animals is dependent on the bylaws for the municipalities for whom we provide shelter services. NOTE: Parkland County, with the exception of Parkland Village, does not have a cat bylaw, therefore, we are unable to house any stray cats found in Parkland County. If you have found a stray cat in Parkland Village, please contact us at 780-968-8400.

***We have walk in hours from 1-4pm Monday -Friday. We do require appointments from 8:30am-1pm Monday to Friday as well as weekends and stat holidays. Please check the Parkland County Animal Control Bylaw and the bylaws for Stony Plain, Spruce Grove, Spring Lake, Alberta Beach Sandy Beach and Kapasiwin to confirm the laws surrounding impounding of cats or dogs in these areas.
