❗❗ANWSER FOR WHAT IS IT WEDNESDAY❗❗

Take a close look at this x-ray! See that tooth growing completely sideways? This is not something we often find, and as you can imagine, it can be incredibly uncomfortable for a pet. In this case, removal of the tooth would be recommended!

This is a perfect example of why we always recommend dental x-rays during your pet's dental procedures. There is so much happening beneath the gumline that we simply cannot see with the naked eye! Sometimes x-rays reveal that a tooth is in much worse shape than it looks from the outside (and occasionally, they give us the good news that a tooth is healthier than we thought!).

To get this sweet patient back to living their absolute best, pain-free life, we recommended removing the sideways tooth. 🐾💛

June is just around the corner, and you know what that means, Heartworm Season is almost here! 🦟☀️ Heartworm is a serious disease transmitted by mosquitoes, but the good news is that it’s nearly 100% preventable. Before we start summer prevention, it is crucial to perform a 4DX blood test.

Why the Tick and Heartworm test? It doesn’t just check for heartworm; it also screens for three common tick-borne diseases (Lyme, Anaplasmosis, and Ehrlichia). It gives us a full picture of your pet’s health before the "buggy" weather truly hits!

Could you believe that this is urine? 😱 Well, believe it! This sample was completely opaque, which is a major red flag for a serious urinary tract infection (UTI). While it looks shocking, it’s a great reminder of why we ask for these samples!

Urinary infections can be incredibly uncomfortable for our furry friends. Here are a few signs to look for at home:

Frequent attempts to urinate with little output.

Straining or crying out while urinating (If your male cat is straining to urinate, you should be contacting your vet asap).

Blood in the urine (or a cloudy/opaque appearance like this!).

Accidents in the house from a previously house-trained pet.

Licking the urinary area excessively.
