This big Tom was a really fun project. Was going to do him walking down a branch but he had quite a big gut and thought it would look good hunched up.

This is another mount for sale if anyone is interested!

Good luck to all who have started and will start bear hunting soon. Knowing what kind of a mount you want is very important so you can skin properly. And especially for rugs, make sure your cuts are straight and even

Day 4 at was nothing short of amazing. Woke up to a beautiful day and was ready to chase some Zebra. We had two previous attempts and one right away that morning. After the first failed stalk we went to overlook a huge part of the property from the one mountain. At the very bottom we spotted a couple Zebra in the mix and of a big herd of Blue Wildebeest. We made a plan and descended down the slope and closed in tight with the herd. They winded us and we had to push back around them and keep a close eye for the Zebra moving in and around all the trees and bushes. They finally presented a shot which I took quickly and the stallion went down quick. Such an incredible and beautiful animal. I’m so thankful I was able to get one.
The night hunt was something totally different from what we can do here. Was a really cool experience and unreal to see the jackals come in through the thermal scope. We setup for a second calling session and immediately we had three young ones come in and after a clean miss, a bigger one made it in close where I made a clean shot. And on our way back to the lodge we stumbled across another porcupine and I was able to get it well.

This trip was overall a fantastic time and so thankful for the opportunity. The staff at were amazing, had great service and food. Can’t say enough great things about them and this place. Truly made it a once in a lifetime experience.

Day 2 with could be as perfect as it gets. Woke up early to quite a bit of rain so pushed the hung back till about noon. But gave me plenty of time to sit alone with a cup of coffee and relax. Got to watch the sun creep in and then more rain push through. I haven’t been so relaxed in very a long time.
Then came around noon and we got a quick break and we were able to sneak out to start the pursuit for a gemsbok. Wasn’t long into driving out we spotted a beautiful young kudu bull that we were admiring when Mae tapped me on the shoulder and pointed out the small herd of gemsbok to our left. We got after them as they didn’t go to far and was able to setup for a perfect broadside shot on the best one. This is an animal I’ve thought about for a longtime and told myself if I ever made it to Africa I would shoot one. Truly a beautiful animal and so thankful for.
Later that afternoon we set out for an evening hunt. We went up the one side of the property we haven’t seen that was full of game and stunning views. With the sunset behind us it was the end to a perfect day with my fiancé.
