It’s a privilege to care for pets whose owners are so dedicated and thoughtful. If you know other pet owners who value the same kind of care, we are welcoming new patients.

I think it’s time to introduce myself. My name is Dr. Tracy L. Collins and I have been a small animal veterinarian for almost 17 years.

I have been lucky enough to be loved by many pets in my life. I got my first dog, Scruffy, when I was 4 years old - the day I picked him out is my earliest memory. It was love at first sight, and he was my best friend for 16 years. The day I said goodbye to him was one of the hardest days of my life, but was made easier by a very kind and compassionate veterinarian.

I believe that love from a pet is one of the most precious gifts we can receive in our lifetime. Our pets fill a special place in our hearts, and they deserve to leave this world peacefully and pain-free, surrounded by those that love them most. This is why I decided to open TLC Veterinary Care at home euthanasia service.

Also featured in this photo is my very cooperative (but not so thrilled about his hat), 19 year old cat, Ninja 🥰🐾

What should you expect from an in home euthanasia? First of all, we discuss all the finer details and take payment before I arrive at your home, so that when I get there, I can focus on you and your pet. All I will need from you when I arrive is a signature.

I will greet your pet and offer them some love, if they are feeling up to it. Once they are comfortable with me, I will gently administer a sedative injection. Often owners can give treats or lots of scratches and love as a distraction. This injection will help your pet relax and fall into a deep sleep. While this takes effect, you can snuggle or lay with your pet, we can talk about your pet's life, or simply sit in silence and offer your pet lots of love.

Once they are completely asleep, I will administer a second injection (your pet will not be aware of this one), which will gently help your pet pass within minutes.

Once your pet has passed, I will give your family a few minutes (or as long as you need) alone with your pet. If you have chosen to have me transport your pet to the crematorium, then I will gently wrap up your pet in some cozy blankets and take them with me.

If you aren't sure if a home euthanasia is right for your pet, you have questions, or you would like to book, please feel free to reach out 🐾🌈
