Fresh Milled Flour
We recently decided to purchase organic wheat berries and a stone mill to grind our own whole wheat flours. As we are trying out recipes for bread, bagels, sub buns, brownies and various cookies the past few weeks...we wondered if there would be any interest in these items that could be baked to order (or even fresh milled flour that you could try out yourself).
One thing to note with fresh milled flour is that you literally can't eat the volume of bread you are used to with store bought flours. One sandwich with fmf is going to replace two sandwiches made with store bought, as it is more nutrient dense and more filling (due to the added fiber from using the entire grain).
We currently have soft white and soft red (good for baking items that don't use yeast/starter), hard white and hard red (for breads or items requiring yeast) and khorasan (an ancient grain that is generally all purpose as is or can be mixed with others). If there is enough interest, we can also get Red Fife, Emmer, Rye, Spelt, or Einkorn with our next order. Feel free to message with any questions you may have.
