Beautiful black female dog with no collar or tattoo found on PR403. She’s very friendly but timid and extremely skinny. If she is your pup or know who she belongs to, please message ASAP.
Currently safe and fed but owner needs to be found!

Betty White is now AVAILABLE for adoption.
Betty was born Sep 24/22. She is UTD with her vaccines receiving a clean bill of health today. She is excellent with dogs, cats and even horses. Betty is great with kids, although she still needs to learn some manners because she loves to jump up for hugs. Betty is adventurous but cautious. She is smart, laid back, incredibly loving and trusting and willing to follow her person to the moon and back. She’s kennel trained and nearly house broken. Betty is learning how to walk with a leash and sit for her treats. She catches on quickly and is eager to impress. While she is a mix of St Bernard and Poodle, she should not be considered a shed-free dog. Betty is a special pup waiting for a special home. Bernice is a thief!!! This little trickster sure likes to play in the snow, especially when she sneaks off with one of your gloves 😂 The St. Berdoodle pups really like to get out their zoomies in the snow banks but definitely enjoy the warmth of the home to catch up on puppy naps. While I wish we could keep all the pups that come through our doors, that would simply be selfish 🥺. If ever you have considered sharing your adventures with a large breed pup, we are accepting applications for Bernice. Be mindful that just because she has poodle in her doesn’t mean she won’t shed 😳Please send us a message and we’ll send you the application. Bernice can’t wait to meet you 💕

HNH would like to introduce “Betty White” and “Bernice”!! These two St. Berdoodle pups are 3 months old and have just been received into rescue in collaboration with Jenn’s Furry Friends Rescue. While there were four pups, we were only able to collect two with the hopes that the other two have found soft and safe landing. Although neither pup is ready for adoption, keep your eyes open as 2023 will bring exciting opportunities! For the time being these two are busy learning how to be puppies with proper socialization in a loving environment!

OWNER FOUND!!! 🙌🏻
Help us find his home?!!! This dog was nearly hit on PR 403 near Friesen road. He was standing in the middle of the highway after nearly missing the grill of a semi. My daughter happened to scoop him up and is currently trying to find his owner. He has a blue collar (looks new). No tattoos or tags. Please let me know if you know where he lives! He doesn’t seem to have an appreciation for vehicles traveling at 100+ km/hr 😰

With gas prices hitting an all time high, who isn’t looking for alternative ways to mow the lawn?! Introducing “Stiltz”, a 2-3 year old Percheron filly who has already reached 18hh! Stiltz is a 2000lb lap pony who adores being spoiled with attention. She is easy to catch, leads with some encouragement (oober lazy), ties, stands for vetting and needles, tolerates deworming and spraying. Stiltz however is still learning to hold her feet for the farrier and just like 99% of heavies seems to struggle with this skill. She also has a bummed left hock which is soft tissue related as proven by Xray. Her hock injury makes her walk a bit funny but it doesn’t seem to get in the way of her passion for life and friendship. Stiltz is suitable for all of your grass trimming needs but not for riding. The intuition the horse holds is like nothing I have come across as of yet. She is highly in tune with the emotional chatter that exists around her and offers a shoulder to any and everything/one that needs it. She’ll know before you do that you need a hug. We are looking for a home for Stiltz with little expectations outside of good manners, respect for authority and the occasional landscaping project. Please message for more details. Will only consider serious homes with experience with heavies. It’s a tall order no doubt, but…..you can probably imagine where I’m going with this 😂😂😂

‼️AUCTION ALERT‼️

Tomorrow is the fall horse auction in Grunthal and we need your help more than ever. We are at capacity, which means we do not have the funds or feed to be taking on more horses. It's heartbreaking as so many horses will be in need tomorrow. It's been a terrible year for pastures and hay and we are expecting a lot of horses to be running through the sale.

We will be there to upload photos and bid for people that can't be in attendance. It's absolutely heartbreaking going into the pens knowing you can't save them, but it's been a tough year caring for the horses we already have. All types of horses will be there tomorrow, and time will be of the essence.

Featured in our photo is Penny & Ricky, Penny gave birth only a few weeks after the day she would have been shipped to Alberta for slaughter. Your support helped us save both of their lives. Please, share the available horses tomorrow. It may be their only chance at being seen and finding a home.

If you like what we do and want to support our effort and the 30+ horses in our care, we are graciously accepting e-transfers towards their feed and vet bills. Our monthly operating costs are close to $5000, not including our vet bills. Every bit helps, and if we can get back on our feet we hope to be pulling horses at the spring sales.

Well, it took some doing but thanks to a ‘tough as nails’ farrier, and a determined trainer we finally got Whisper trimmed and filed! He is walking normally and seemingly so much happier!! We aren’t out of the woods yet as it’s going to take some time to train his hooves to grow properly but we are well on our way! Hooray for Whisper!! 💪🏻🥰😲

Whisper (previously Donut) finally had his long awaited pedicure and he did AMAZING!! We had to sedate him so that four people could tackle his horrendously overgrown feet. What a workout!!! Between Dr. Oswald and his assistant Courtney, Debbie Kowbel, Floriane Vermeire and myself we got him done and he is feeling like a new man (mostly because we made sure to top him up with long lasting pain killer 😬). Whisper will be tender for a few weeks until his tendons and joints adjust to the new hooves but he is well on his way to feeling better. To top things off, Dr Oswald gave him a clean bill of health!! I feel so lucky to have such a great team working with us!!! Thanks Doc, Deb, Courtney and of course Floriane 🥰

Please help us welcom Donut, a 25 year old standard donkey who is in desperate need of a pedicure!! Donut came to us after a dear friend spotted him and immediately sprang into action and who ultimately loaded and transported him to us here at HNH. The bravery and tenacity of this woman has afforded Donut a new lease on life! Tip of the hat to Sandy and her husband, Kris!!

While Donut obviously has some significant concerns, we must be mindful not to slander the previous owner, no good will come from berating circumstances that are now in the rear view mirror. There is only one direction we wish to look upon and that is forward.

Donut has come into rescue in honour of Chris Schoenborn who tragically passed away in March of this year. Chris was an avid animal lover and even adopted a puppy through our rescue who was his shadow until the day of his passing. Join us in honouring Chris by giving a new lease on life to Donut.

Keep tabs on Donut and his journey to a happy and healthier future 💜

One of our favourite things is working with untouched, unhandled, unloved yearlings. It takes some time and patience but when that trust starts to build the rewards are endless.

I am so proud of Jessie Lavallee who is the owner and operator of A Furry Tail Ending out in Altona. She runs a doggie daycare, a grooming salon and she is a distributor of raw food! Her small, quaint beginning was something to be admired, but now she has her own beautifully designed building where she has expanded to meet the demand of her expertise! I highly recommend Jess, she is amazing with Boss and so many more. Cheers to women entrepreneurs making their way!!
