✂️ Let’s Talk About Matting ✂️
One of the hardest conversations we have as groomers is explaining why a heavily matted dog needs to be shaved down instead of having the mats brushed out.
We promise you — it’s not laziness. It’s compassion.
Matting pulls tightly on your dog’s skin every time they move. It can cause bruising, sores, restricted circulation, and even hide infections underneath. Brushing out severe matting isn’t just uncomfortable — it can be extremely painful and stressful for your pet. In some cases, it would take hours of pulling and tugging, which simply isn’t fair to them.
Shaving allows us to:
✔️ Remove painful tension from the skin
✔️ Check for hidden injuries or irritation
✔️ Give your dog a fresh, healthy start
✔️ Prevent unnecessary suffering
We know it can be disappointing to lose the fluffy look. But coat grows back — trust and comfort matter more. Our priority will always be your pet’s safety and well-being over vanity.
The best way to avoid a shave-down?
Regular brushing at home + staying on a consistent grooming schedule 🐶✨
