October is Registered Veterinary Technician month- and we are spending the month highlighting our team of outstanding technicians here at Elder’s Equine. RVTs are a vital part of our team, fully integrated into patient care, running anesthesia, and assisting our veterinarians to provide the highest standard of care to your horses.
Our next technician in the spotlight is Brynn. She joined our team in 2021 and has been an integral part of our team ever since. Brynn is best known for her organization and preparedness for any situation. From hemostats to emergency salt and pepper, she seems to keep everything but the kitchen sink in her bag! Brynn is also the master of our MRI/CT machines and is often the one conducting our scans at the clinic.
When Brynn is not busy with work, you will most likely find her in the pool perfecting her artistic swimming or coaching the next generation. We are very lucky to have someone like Brynn on our team of equine experts!
Remember to thank an RVT next time you are at your vet for all that they do!

Our technicians and veterinary technician assistants are the best in the province when it comes to all things equine medicine and surgery (in our opinion of course!) - an amazing team of strong, competent, compassionate, fun, caring horse women.
An integral part of the practice, we couldn't do it without you!
Thanks to our whole RVT and VTA team!

RVTs are a vital part of our team, fully integrated into patient care, anesthesia and surgery, and assisting our veterinarians to provide the highest standard of care to your horses.
Our newest technician to join our team is Grace. Grace joined us in the spring of 2025 after graduating from Red River College. Her bright and bubbly personality brings joy to every person and animal she works with. Her dedication to patient care ensures that your horse always has a little bit of extra love (and snacks) while they are in the clinic. And her affinity for extra large patients compliments her small stature well!
In her spare time Grace can be found tending to horses with her equine massage therapy business and spending time at the cabin with her dog. We are incredibly fortunate to have Grace on our team and are so grateful for all the hard work she does around here.
Remember to thank an RVT next time you are at your vet for all that they do!

What makes us stand out? There are many good veterinarians around that can help you with your horse for all their routine day to day health care needs. Elders Equine is different! We are staffed by highly trained equine veterinarians that can provide high quality day to day health care needs and specialists to provide the care that goes beyond.
What makes us stand out? Our veterinary technicians are fully accredited registered veterinary technologists (RVT). This means that they have gone to college to specifically study to be a veterinary technologist. This allows our staff to perform many more tasks for your horse with skill, knowledge and precision which otherwise is not allowed from non-veterinary technologist assistants. If you want to spot the difference, ask if they are an RVT and discuss their training. Our staff are constantly updating their horse specific veterinary knowledge and assist in teaching RVT’s in our clinical setting.
What makes us stand out? Our facility and equipment which are second to none in the Province. As a primary care and referral hospital, we have the stalls, monitoring and precision, high-tech medical equipment needed to tackle whatever comes through the door. For your horse, this means that we can arrive at a diagnosis efficiently and accurately - ultimately saving you time, money and worry.
What makes us stand out? Our surgical capabilities - we are the only equine surgical and medical facility in the Province and service as far east as Thunder Bay and as far west as Regina and all points between. We have a board certified equine surgeon - a specialist in surgery. Our hospital and surgery suite are equipped to handle fractures, colics, arthroscopy, neurosurgery (head, neck and back), tendon/ligament surgery, airway surgery to name a few. We perform both standing procedures and traditional general anesthesia cases. Dr. Bell has performed the most standing tie back procedures and interspinous ligament desmotomy (kissing spine) procedures in Western Canada to date.
What makes us stand out? Our veterinarians are experienced equine vets with combined 100+ years of experience. The practice has been established for over 50 years and our veterinarians pride ourselves on getting our patients and clients the best possible care efficiently, accurately and within your means to arrive at the diagnosis and treatment best suited to each situation. We are able to provide this confidently through our advanced training and partnering with our clients to achieve their goals.
What makes us stand out? Education and continuing education - we take pride in our practice helping to improve education of students, clients and the general public about horse medicine. We instruct senior DVM students, senior RVT student, veterinary interns, surgical residents and veterinarians through our education programs. We provide seminars to our clients and general public regularly as well as contribute to local, Provincial, National and International level knowledge through our research projects and collaborations as well as speaking engagements by our veterinarians. We strive to continue our own education about horse medicine as well through conferences and seminars.
What makes us stand out? Our clients and their horses! Ask our clients what their experience has been with Elders Equine and see the difference experience and care can make. We take pride in our work and in helping the horses we treat to reach our clients expectations to the best of our abilities.
