We have a few shoutouts to make about our students!

Deziree joined us for her final practicum of her RVT schooling for 6 weeks. She left at the beginning of May to start officially working as a a tech! Thank you Deziree and we wish you all the best!

We also have a third year vet student joining us this summer. Alexis enjoyed her time here so much last summer she's decided to join us again! You'll likely see her tagging along with Dr. Justin on his calls this summer. Welcome back Alexis!

What a year 2026 has been already

We want to start out by saying we appreciate all of our clients here at Farm Docs. We are so grateful for such a supportive community and we thank you for trusting us with your animals care!

This year has been especially busy both in clinic, and for emergencies after hours. We work hard to support our clients both with appointments during the day, and emergencies after hours. During business hours, Dr. Justin and our staff have worked hard to accommodate our booked appointments and any emergencies that come up as well. We always try to get everyone in as soon as possible!

This year from January 1st to April 30th, there have been 144 emergency calls after hours that Dr. Justin has tended to. This is not including all of the regularly scheduled appointments Monday-Friday and daytime emergencies he has seen. While we do our best to accommodate everyone, we will prioritize clients first, we want to support those who support us. Dr. Justin has been working solo since January 2025. So if you've called, its Dr. Justin who comes.

All this is just to say please be kind and understanding if we are not/were not able to accomodate you immediately. Please treat our staff with respect on the phone and in clinic. While we are accepting new clients, that is for booked appointments. If you have been turned away for an emergency we apologize, and we wish we could be available for everyone.

On a positive note, our new vet Dr. Stuart started last week and he is working hard to get settled in! Watch for our formal introduction, and if you see him say hello!

For some breeding season has already begun, but for most it's just around the corner!

Ensure your bulls get tested and checked to make sure they're ready and capable for your breeding season.

The economic benefits of a breeding soundness evaluation (BSE/semen test) is even higher this year with the increased price of bulls and higher value of calves they produce.

We have more dates available this year with Dr. Stuart starting in May, but booking in early ensures you get the date and time you prefer! 306-883-2370

The snow is melting and spring is almost here (hopefully!) We can't protect your pets from the spring mud, but we can protect them from the pesky ticks!

We are fully stocked with tick preventatives so stop in and get one month or one season's worth for your pets. Call ahead and we can get your order ready for pick up if you're in a hurry!

Please note our recommended products for flea and tick prevention are all prescription, we will need to have seen your pet in the last year and have an accurate weight on them in order to prescribe the medication.

Now that March has ended and we're into April - We are going to start a new series highlighting the most interesting case we saw the past month!

Introducing: The Farm Docs MARCH case of the month!

We might be starting with the case of the year - but be cautious as the photos may be considered graphic.

In March, a calving cow was presented to Dr. Justin with the description "large head and two small feet." The calf presented normally in the birth canal but would not come with pulling. (no image taken as we did not realize at the time what the real situation was.) The decision was made to go ahead with a c-section.

What came out was anything but ordinary.
One calf two bodies? Two Calves one head?

We have a set of conjoined twins with EIGHT legs, two bodies, two tails, and one (slightly enlarged) head.

This was certainly a first for everyone in the room! Dr. Justin said it may even be the case of his career.
