🌞 Protect Your Pup from the Sun! 🐾

☀️ With spring here and summer approaching, the sun is finally starting to shine (when it’s not raining, of course!) — but don’t forget, pets can get sunburned too!

🎯 Most vulnerable areas:
👂 Ear tips
👃 Nose
👁 Eyelids
👄 Lips/mouth edges
🐕 Belly & tail tip

🎯 Dogs most at risk:
• Light/white or ginger-coloured coats
• Thin-coated breeds (e.g., Pit Bulls, Boxers, Dalmatians)
• Hairless breeds (like Chinese Cresteds)
Dogs with bald patches

🛡 How to Prevent It:
✅ Avoid midday sun (walk in early morning or evening)
✅ Use pet-safe sunscreen (SPF 30+, no zinc oxide or PABA!)
✅ Protect with UV-blocking shirts or hats
✅ Don’t forget the belly, ears, and nose!

Feeling the love this week!

As the bookkeeper and social media coordinator, I’m usually behind the scenes — so it was such a thoughtful surprise to be recognized with this sweet card.

A big thank you to Dr. Laura, Dr. Adele, Megan, and John for the kind gesture — it truly means a lot to be appreciated alongside such a hardworking and compassionate crew!

Easter is almost here — and while we’re getting ready for the fun, it’s important to keep our pets safe from hidden holiday hazards!⚠️

Watch out for these common Easter dangers:
🍫Chocolate – Especially dark chocolate, can be toxic even in small amounts.
💐Flowers – Daffodils contain lycorine, which can upset your pet’s stomach. Lilies can cause severe kidney damage in cats.
🐣Decorations – Plastic grass, eggs, and small toys can lead to dangerous blockages if ingested.
🦴🍇 Easter Foods - Onions, garlic, poultry bones, grapes, and macadamia nuts are all toxic to pets. Xylitol, a sweetener found in many Easter sweets and desserts, can cause seizures.

Stronger ticks mean higher risk — even in cooler weather.
Infected ticks are adapting: they’re surviving colder temps, feeding more effectively, and spreading diseases like Lyme and Anaplasmosis faster than ever.
The threat is real — but it’s also preventable.
Protect your pet before ticks get a chance. Book now to get started on prevention today!
