It’s utter pandemonium in the chicken coop today!
The “sister wives” affectionately dubbed to three little hens by their previous chicken mom have successfully hatched out chicks here. There is now a fourth sister wife jungle fowl, and together they have 10 chicks. Not one single chick knows who its mother is, so they just go from hen to hen to hen to hen. I moved them so that I could segregate and that caused an uprising so bad there were roosters and hens and turkeys and geese coming in and adding to the ruckus. There was one silkie rooster bound to be a dad so he’s locked in there too.
A turkey hen decided she’d sit on eggs all weekend, and now said f*ck it, well I have to see if they’re fertile but I already have 3 full incubators!
And just like that I killed a chick. The water dish was so small, and thought the bantam chicks were ready for an upgraded dish. No, an hour later and one drowned. Damnit! I think horses are less trouble makers!
