School may be starting this week - but lesson planning at the barn is still going full tilt. Luckily, I found a little extra time to “test ride” the lesson plan today—strictly for quality control, of course… not because I was looking for an excuse to ride. 😅🐴

We’re taking a little vacation for the next 3 days! 🌞 After a busy couple of weeks here at the farm, the horses (and their humans) have earned a well-deserved break.

Our First 2-Day Camp Was a Hit! 🎉🐴

What an incredible two days we had at our very first extended camp!

🌟 Day One kicked off with team riding rotations — while one group rode, the other was busy designing obstacle courses and scavenger hunts… and then we swapped! Each team brought their own flair: one had riders carrying items to different stations, while the other made them dismount mid-course to bob for apples before hopping back on! 🍎🐎

We kept the energy up with our classic hot dog lunch, then got to work setting up the activities. It was amazing to see how creative and thoughtful the campers were in planning challenges for each other.

🌞 Day Two started with horse picks — and we were so proud to see some riders step up to challenge themselves with new or more difficult mounts. The morning was filled with riding, followed by a BBQ lunch to refuel. 🍔

The afternoon was all about fun and flair — horse painting, a mini musical ride performance, and, of course, ending on a high note with a good ol' game of horsey bingo. 🐴🎨🎶

A huge thank you to Dr. Val Higginson from Navan Veterinary Services and Dr. John McKend from Rideau - St. Lawrence Veterinary Services for their incredible care and teamwork this week with our sweet Louie. 🐴💙

Lou had ultrasounds on both stifles to assess the progression of his arthritis, followed by joint injections to help keep him feeling his best. He’s now on a few days of stall rest to let everything settle—and of course, he’s got his trusty Pones by his side for moral support. 🐴🐴

We’re so grateful for the continued care from our amazing vet team and are hopeful this will keep Louie happy and comfortable while out and about with the rest of his herd. 💉🩺✨
