Today I started my morning off looking at the completely wrong day for my afternoon so imagine my surprise when I realized I had 6 dogs today when my brain told me 4 😂

Anyways, this morning started with the Gals - Finley, Luna, Sage & Sunny. These girls are always such a delight to have in the salon, especially all at once and you can really see how different each one of them is and how many different quirks they all have 😂 Finley really enjoys cuddling in the most awkward places around the salon, is always not thrilled when I volunteer her to go first but is always so thankful she's the first done 😅 Luna stands guard at all time letting us know if there's a passer by, even on the table she's always on alert looking out of the salon🤭 . Sage wants to be wherever Sunny or I am, always checking in to see how things are going with whatever sibling I'm working on and trying to volunteer in their place meanwhile Sunny spends time checking in on everyone, taking turns laying with each of her siblings 🥺🥰

Henry came in next for a bath & brush and of course a nail dremel! As always he's a perfect man and loves to use my shoulder and his head rest whenever he can throughout the groom 🥺 he thoroughly enjoyed the treats I had our today and was far more enthusiastic for the photos than usual 😅

Winnie was the last one in today, and I did get major side eyes for her having to endure seeing me twice in one week - the audacity of her mom and I 😂 despite the glares, she did perfect as always, and her little flower we did during the event ended up coming off with her shorter cut

Started my morning off with a Pawsitive Introduction meeting Bonnie for the very first time! This little lady is a covid puppy and as such has a harder time staying at your traditional salons because she's there all day so they wanted to change things for her and give me a shot! Though she's a bit nervous, she did calm down during the visit and seemed to relax which is amazing, I'll be seeing her Friday to pamper her !

Floki was up next, this man has a lot of zest for life and does more spins during his zoom sessions than a ballerina 😂😂 as always he was a very well behaved boy, and while do anything for a treat!

Chloe was next on the list and as always she was a complete angel! From jumping up on the table to hopping into the tub she has the whole grooming routine down pact 🙌

Enzo was next, today I did just a little trim up and tidied him all up! He usually tries to jump into the tub first to get that over with and I always have to bribe him back to the table with treats 😂

I got to meet Max for the very first time next, this little man was so full of energy and had so much love to give me during his groom 🥺❤️ I kept him natural but trimmed up his bum, he actually has his full tail which was so fun to see 🥰

Lastly Casey came in for a nail Dremel, this man showed his mom just how much he hates it but the moment she stepped out of the salon he was a rockstar 😂😂 sometimes doggos are funny like that

In true Jazz fashion first day back after the event and some more trips to the hospital I would slice my thumb open on my new scissors today causing me to end a bit earlier than planned 🫠🙃

I started my morning with Peekay, this little lady comes every 4 weeks now to keep all that floof under control, she did really well today as she always does despite having a sore leg, which seemed to not slow her down one bit as she zoomed around after her groom 🤭

Emma was in next, her mom brought me in a coffee today which was a great pick me up. It wasn't until the final little touch up on Emma at the end that I got my thumb with scissors 🤦‍♀️ I wrapped it right up and continued on as one does 😅

Alex came to look at it as I simply refused at the time, and advised me to rebook what I could to go get stitches 😅 as it was only 15 minutes to the next appointment, of course I pushed through for one more dog as I imagined they were already almost here (and they were)

Kodiak was last on my list today before I went to get my thumb looked at. He's an older lil guy who gets his fur trimmed down and has his whole life. He was absolutely perfect today for everything including his nails, he made sure to give me lots of kisses as well which always makes my day ❤️

Today I had to take Alex back into the hospital so I ended up having to move my two pups from today on to another day this week, but I didn't forget about the draw and thought while I was out with the girls before taking them home if get them to draw up the names ❤️🙌

Phewwww... what an amazing day at Sask Pet-a-Palooza! 🐾💕

It was an absolute honour to be part of this event in its very first year and to send so many pups home with a fun pop of colour. 🥰

We definitely had a few learning curves with our colour station that we'll be even better prepared for next time 🤭 (note to self: bring a backup airbrush machine 😅), but despite the hiccups, we were thrilled by how much everyone loved it!

We also hosted TWO draws at our booth:

An absolute HUGE shout out goes to Hannah Lemieux for not only being Maui's care taker today, but for being such a huge advocate for me and being here helping me my voice while I made the pups colourful 🙏🙌 as well as Merin Che who I threw right in and was a huge help today, I'm so glad some of you got to meet her as she will slowly be a regular face you see around more a the salon ❤️

Today I had Mokie come in for a quick nail trim to start my day, though she was throwing quite the dramatics on today for her mom 😂

Winston was in next for his usual once a month pampering - though I had to have a serious talking to with him about this growing up stuff, it's simply not allowed and I'm so confused why he thought getting taller was something he needed to do 😱😂 jokes aside he was ready for the beach in the hat I put on him 🤭😂

Lastly today I got to pamper Otto (Octavious) once again! Merin joined me today and helped me out with his bath and blow dry. He had a few more tighter matts so we took him down to reset him. Otto is seriously one of the sweetest boys, he loves testing his head on me while I groom him 🥺💕

This evening as I prepped my final things for tomorrow's event Alex had to head back to the hospital due to some complications with his surgery so it's been a bit of a hectic evening dealing with all of that, he's in the right place and getting the care he needs so he will be okay, but boy was that a curveball this evening 😮‍💨

This morning started with sweet baby Candi 💕 this little lady was so much more relaxed and calm during her session with me today and I'm so happy to see how comfortable she's becoming in the space!

Elliot was up next, as always he's a total saint. He was even oddly happy about the water wings today ? But sitting in the backdrop is a whole other story tbh... Elliot is on tick meds - and THANK GOD he is because if I had to pull the whopping 15 dead ticks I found off of him while they were ALIVE I'd probably have opted out 😂😂

ILA was next, this little bean was so thrilled to be back!!! Today was hands down her best session yet, she let me do her nails with no problem and was even really good for her face which she tends to be a bit wiggly for, I'm so proud of how far she has come 💕🙏

Rocky came in next, this week man had a run in with another pup a few weeks ago and he had quite the vet shave going on 😂 I made that as even as I could and got him feeling much less fuzzy, though due to him going through that trauma he was unusually spicy today and more sensitive on his back end but I was able to sooth him and reassure him through the groom !

This evening I got to spend time with my step daughter Alerra and we tag teamed part of Maui's groom together which was so much fun 💕🥰 she absolutely rocked it and picked up on things so quickly it was honestly so cute to watch how excited she got watching our art come to life. She insisted on washing him out too so I got to show her how to wash and dry today which she had a blast with 🙏

Two more sleeps until the Sask Pet-a-Palooza event!! Maui will be strutting around with Alex and our girls showing off the rainbow colours he now proudly wears (photos to come tomorrow as he isn't quite finished)

Brooke started my day off with the sweetest cuddle. 🥰 I get to see her every 6 weeks, and we've grown quite the cute little relationship together. She went a bit shorter this time, which turned out to be absolutely perfect, so I think that's officially her new style from now on! 😂

Willow was next! This sweet little puppy needs plenty of breaks and extra snuggles to make it through her groom, but boy is she ever so, so good. ❤️ Willow will be on the schedule every 4 weeks from now on, and I'm not sure who's more excited — her or me. 😂

Juno came in after that, and like the current trend seems to be, we went shorter for summer. ☀️ Though today she was so weird and dodgy about her head! 😅 She usually sits so well, but today she was protesting greatly. 😂

Oakley stopped by for her monthly nail Dremel, and boy was she suuuuuper amped to be here. 😅 She came running toward me with full-body curls for butt scratches and everything. 😂

Lastly was Rookie. This saint was such a good boy today. ❤️ We got his nail trim done in about 5 minutes, had a fun little photo shoot that he was SO cooperative for, and in between his crazy zoomies, I managed to get a decent amount of fur out with a brush. 😂

Okay, I know I said I'd start doing daily posts on Sunday... not sure what I was thinking there 😂 So, take two! Starting today, I officially vow to do my best to keep these updates daily. ❤️🙏

Sunday

Maple & Aspen were thrilled to see me bright and early. These two usually bring a little spice to their appointments, but they were surprisingly well-behaved this time around! Their mom and I could hardly believe it. 😂

I also finally got to pamper Aegius. He was an absolute gentleman! The only thing he wasn't a fan of was the dryer around his head, but otherwise he was wonderful for everything. His family told me they've never seen him so relaxed and happy after a groom, which is a huge win in my books. ❤️🙏

Monday

Miss Phoebe was my only guest of the day. She was a little more hesitant than usual and even had a tiny p**p before getting on the table, which completely caught both her mom and me off guard. 😂 Once she settled in, though, she was perfect as always. The only thing she strongly disagreed with was the water wings. 🤣

Tuesday

Today seemed like the perfect day to bring Maui along, especially since he already knows and plays with all the pups I had booked. Needless to say, he was living his best life.

Bear & Tux were first up. The boys went shorter for summer and came out feeling extra zoomy afterward! They were both excited to see Maui, but Maui was especially obsessed with Tux and was thrilled every time I let them have a little play break. 😂

Next was Brier. Since I had seen him fairly recently, there wasn't quite as much coat to remove, but I still managed to pull out a respectable pile of floof! Brier isn't usually the biggest fan of playing with other dogs, but today he was more than happy to run around with Maui. Apparently Maui has that effect on everyone. 😂

Last but not least was Briar - yes, both Brier and Briar were here today. 😂 Briar isn't nearly as impressed with Maui as he is with her. Rather than accepting his endless kisses, she'd much rather bop him in the face and push him away, which was equally entertaining. She was fantastic for her groom as always, and the amount of fur that came out of her was absolutely insane!

As for Maui, I managed to get about 65% of his groom done today. 😂 He's bathed, dried, nails trimmed, bum tidied, and 2 out of 4 Grinch feet have been conquered. All that's left is some finishing scissor work. Doing your own dog between appointments is always a challenge, but we're getting there! 🤣❤️🐾
