Well the cat is out of the bag!!!!

We are proud to share starting in January, Joyce will be offering cat grooming services under the business name Saskatoon Cat Groomer.

While this is a bittersweet moment as we will miss her as part of our Mutt Hutt team, we are very excited for her to start this new venture!

Did you Know?

Did you know that the majority of our medium and large breed dogs are groomed by two groomers?

This allows for less time on the grooming table, which can result in a more enjoyable experience for your pooch!

Double the groomer means double the smooches and scratches!

Two groomers allow for extra hands on help for dogs that require more attention for health reasons, behavioural reasons, or dogs that are quite nervous.

Meet Nikki!

Nikki is the proud owner of Mutt Hutt Grooming established in 2010.

When she is not busy with the salon she can be found dancing, cooking, and spending time with her dogs Dom and Rux!

Fun Fact: Nikki has visited 57 wineries on The Great Okanagan Wine Quest!

Meet Rachel!

Rachel has been with The Mutt Hutt over 2 years and is great with our nervous dogs!

Rachel has two dogs at home, Lucy and Linus,her cat, Mono, and rat, Delisle.

Rachel’s free time is usually spent painting and baking.

Fun Fact: Rachel competed at the Canada Games in wheelchair basketball!

Meet Joyce!

Joyce has been with The Mutt Hutt for almost six years and is also our resident cat groomer!

Joyce enjoys spending time with her fur family consisting of her dogs Hawkeye, Sammi, and Frank, and cats Bella and Bean.

Joyce is currently in the final stages of completing her Certified Feline Master Groomer course with The National Cat Grooming Institute and we could not be more proud!

Fun Fact: All of Joyce’s dogs are foster fails 💕

Jay has been with The Mutt Hutt a little over a year and enjoys grooming Pomeranians and Yorkies.
Jay has two Golden Retrievers, Cricket and Bunny, and a cat named Freyja!
Jay loves to spend her time participating in different dog sports and is an avid gamer!
Fun fact: Jay knows how to play multiple woodwind instruments!

🐾 Join Us for Our Second Annual Pet-Themed Garage Sale! 🐾

We've noticed many folks turning to Facebook Marketplace for buying and selling used pet items, so we thought it would be great to host a big community sale instead!

This event is a chance to sell your gently used dog and cat items to fellow pet lovers.🐶🐱 We’re looking for those selling crates, leashes, collars, dog bowls, training tools, clothing, dog sport gear & equipment, etc! Please ensure that pet beds and clothes are washed, and no open pet food will be allowed 🙂.

🕙 When: Saturday, August 23
⏰ Time: 10 AM - 3 PM
📍 Where: Evolution Raw Pet Food - 414 Avenue N South, Saskatoon

Come deshed with us!!!!!

A good deshedding treatment is a multi step labour of love.

All of the dogs that come in for grooming received a two step shampoo system. The first one is to clean the skin and coat and the second one is specific to their coat’s needs.

Conditioner is added to the coat and we use our velocity dryer to help pe*****te the hair shaft and loosen the dead undercoat.

Once fully rinse we continue onto the drying process which will remove the majority of the dead undercoat.

Our final step is brushing and combing out the remaining dead undercoat.
