Veterinary Medicine can be incredibly challenging, but it is also one of the most rewarding jobs out there! There is nothing better than seeing a sick or injured patient start to heal and feel better, and nothing sweeter than some puppy kisses or a head boop from a senior furr-friend. Thank you to Acadia’s amazing veterinarians, Dr. Higgins and Dr. Braaten for their kindness and dedication to our patients and to all animals! They of course wouldn’t be able to do what they do without the help of an amazing team of RVTs, receptionists and support staff behind them!

Thank you to everyone who took the time to show some love and appreciation for all of the Veterinary Office Assistants and Receptionist this week! It can’t be said enough just how monumental the role they play in keeping veterinary clinics running efficiently, and for the hard work and care they show clients and patients. At Acadia we wouldn’t be able to survive if it wasn’t for our amazing team! A huge shout out goes to Shayla our VOA this week for ALL that she does. Shayla has been with Acadia for 7yrs and there is nothing she can’t do!! 💪🏼 We are so grateful and thankful for all the care and attention she provides and for literally making all of our lives easier! A special shout out also goes to Brooke who is finishing up her studies to become an RVT this year and who has been our Saturday and summer receptionist for a few years now. We are so lucky to have such an amazing frontline care team at Acadia! Wishing them (and all VOAs/ Receptionists out there) and Happy Receptionist Week (and Year)!! THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO!!

Hoppy Easter to all our patients and pet parents🐰 It’s finally starting to feel like spring and we hope everyone is able to get out this weekend to enjoy some warmer temperatures! ☀️💐

Please note we are closed April 18th - 20th and will reopen again at our regular hours on Monday, April 21st. Enjoy the long weekend everyone and remember to avoid feeding Easter dinner table scraps (high fatty foods that can cause pancreatitis) and use caution around some common Easter items (swipe to see)

Our staff is made up of the best team of hardworking, compassionate, and incredible women with a passion for animal health and in nurturing the human animal bond!

Wishing our boss-mom Dr. Higgins a wonderful and happy birthday today 💝. Dr. Higgins and Derek welcomed a new sweet little bundle, a baby girl named Cooper 🧸, to their family this past summer. Dr. Higgins has been on a bit of a partial maternity leave, working some Saturdays and coming in to work to perform some of our more complex surgeries to ensure that our pet patients and their owners continue to be able to receive Acadia’s amazing care and service (including todya on her birthday 😂). Much like her older brother, Cooper frequently visits, helping to “distract” the staff with her smiles...starting her love for animals and perhaps a future in Veterinary Medicine early!

Our ‘February Dental Health Month’ was once again a success!! But if you missed it don’t worry because keeping your pets teeth and gums healthy is important ALL YEAR LONG! There are lots of small steps you can take to improve your cat or dog’s oral health. From VOHC (Veterinary Oral Health Council) approved dental chews, treats and diets, to oral rinses/cleansers and of course good ol’ fashioned brushing, improving oral health has a proven link to improved overall health! Another reason to keep those smiles pearly white!!

We recently shared a story on our page about Hope, the absolute sweet girl who is in the care of New Hope Dog Rescue. Hope is part of NHDR’s “Guardians of Hope” program which fundraises donations that go directly towards the care of their rescue dogs with serious or severe medical issues. Hope has been receiving care here at Acadia and we are happy to say she is on the road to recovery and hopefully closer to finding her new forever home!! 💜🤍
