Horsemanship Through Obstacles THIS WEEKEND June 7-8

In hand or riding this is going to be more than just obstacles and desensitizing, we will go over body control and work on patterns to help with ranch riding, trail, cowboy challenge, etc!

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to enter the show pen in cowboy challenge, ranch riding or hit the trails! This clinic is also ideal for young or green horses! Took our young stallion for his first trail ride and as you can expect, he was a perfectly well behaved little fella. He’s got less than 10 rides under his belt now but he’s so sensible.

He doesn’t miss a beat or fret at anything, despite being blind in one eye! There’s still hope yet we can teach him how to be a good riding horse 💞

She has a name, 2.0 😅

If you don’t know, my mom and dad work very hard at home in Alberta keeping the young ones happy and healthy. Juanita (my mother) was very expressive in her dislike for our chosen name for the little one (Squish)😂 I always felt she had a name…. but there were disagreements on the many choices. Picking names after all can be very difficult when you’ve already met hundreds of horses with various names!

In the end I decided I will go back to my original gut feeling, so reintroducing our little one: Stella 💞

Well this morning our good mare Scout (Dox Silver Sage) gave birth to her second foal - a beautiful filly sired by Dun A Smart Play!

We’re so excited to welcome her into the world 🥰

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Watson-Wilson Performance Horses for not only accommodating my program the last several months, but coaching and mentoring me through my time as an assistant.

I have been able to spend some quality time in the saddle starting colts, training young horses and riding some talented cowhorses and cutters along the way. Whitney and her mom have truly helped me kickstart my business and I am forever grateful for the hospitality, the lessons learned and the friends made. Moving into the next chapter is bittersweet!

That being said, I will be leaving a position to fill. For any keen young trainers looking for quality coaching and mentorship, or simply a space to run your business out of, there’s an opportunity here. Whitney is truly a very talented horsewoman and you will be lucky to have the opportunity to learn from her.
