Coaching Open Mic Nights are back Sunday September 14th!

🌟 Introduction: Meet Reina

From the moment she first swung a leg over a pony at age five, Reina knew the barn was where she belonged. Horses have been her constant—her passion, her challenge, and her joy. With over two decades in the saddle, Reina has carved out a name for herself in the hunter ring, where her precision, poise, and unmistakable equitation have consistently set her apart.

For the past six years, Reina has also been sharing her expertise as a coach, guiding riders with the same thoughtful attention to detail that defines her own riding. Her students know her not just for her technical skill, but for her calm presence and ability to bring out the best in both horse and rider.

Though hunters have been her home base, Reina’s competitive spirit is nudging her toward new horizons. Next year, she plans to dip a toe into the jumper ring—bringing her trademark finesse to a faster-paced challenge. And when it comes to derbies? That’s where her heart truly gallops. The blend of elegance and boldness, tradition and thrill, makes derbies her favorite stage to shine.

Coaching Open Mic Nights!

One of the things members of our coaching community talk about is how we want to shape this industry in the future and a group of us have decided to take some steps to try and help shape our South West community and beyond. We would all love to live in a world where both coaches AND clients are all supporting each other and feel comfortable speaking to other members of the equine community outside their home ‘barn families’.

There is so much value in taking a lesson from time to time with another coach- we all have different areas of expertise and all tend to focus or fixate on different things, and no one needs to feel threatened or like they may offend their own coach if they do so. We all know sometimes your coach gets very busy at a show and you might have a question that needs an answer- what if you could feel comfortable asking another coach in that moment? Coaches and our ‘barn families’ should be able to feel safe and not like they are being ‘judged’ by the broader community for asking for input or help. This is where we want to start!

We are super excited to announce our second South-West clinic with Kailey Moffat on Wednesday August 13th. Groups are limited to 4 riders and will be put together based on skill level. Cost is $80 for an hour and a half. Ship in’s are welcome and encouraged. There will be a few spots offered throughout the day, and evening spots will run at the following times:

3:30-5
5-6:30
6:30-8
8-9:30

This is an excellent opportunity for riders of all levels from the little people all the way to competition level.

Kailey has always been a forever horse lover. Luckily for her, both sides of her family were horse oriented and she grew up immersed in the equine world. Kailey has a unique background as her mum grew up riding and competing dressage, and her dad grew up and works in the horse racing world.

As a result, Horses have always been a huge part of, and the centre of Kailey’s life. At age 4, her family moved onto a farm of their own and Kailey got her very first pony. At age 7 she officially started riding lessons, and never stopped. At the age of 12 she got her first horse, and a very special one at that, Tyson, who she still has.

Kailey has loved teaching everyone from little to adults. She enjoys spreading her love and knowledge of the sport, and helping support others in their riding journey. Kailey has a special love for horses that give a bit of challenge and are ‘labelled’ as ‘quirky’- When they know the job, but make you work for it and aren’t going to auto pilot you around. Kailey believes those horses make you the best rider you can be. Kailey has recently stepped out on her own and now works for herself and has a little loyal clan of her own clients!

It’s hot out there! As horse owners it’s our responsibility to keep our horses safe and make the right decisions for them at all times, including when it feels like it’s 1,000 degrees at 9am. Electrolytes, shade, fans, loose salt, and adjusting your riding schedule are some easy ways to help keep your horse safe until the heat breaks. No ribbon, ride or lesson is worth the risk of heat stroke for both yourself and your horse. Stay cool and safe everyone!

Wowzers! You guys are awesome! Due to demand we opened a couple more beginner hours and have a few spots remaining for new riders that are listed below! We also have a couple spots left on Saturday for novice riders, and one advanced spot. We also have some spots left in our summer camps. PM for more info and to claim one of our remaining spots. We have a few openings for lessons which doesn’t happen very often!

If you’re new to riding and a total beginner, to an experienced rider looking for a fun and safe environment to further your skills reach out now before we are out of room again!

Lessons are an hour in duration and groups are capped at 4-5 riders pending skill level. Groups start at $50/rider. Very limited availability for privates and semi privates but those are also possible pending your schedule meshing with ours! Showing opportunities also available but we love our recreational riders! Have a tiny human in your house that loves horses? We have 2 spaces left at 10am, 1 space at 11am, and 2 spaces at 12pm on Saturdays in our new rider/ Girls Club and Boys Club program.
Come see what the fuss is about and why we have been doing what we do best for over a decade.

Our facility is by appointment only. Please no ‘drop ins’- we have a very small team and are not available to tour drop ins/have discussions about lessons while we are in the ring teaching or working with horses. You wouldn’t want us to leave your paid lesson/training time to tour someone or answer questions about our facility and we ask that you respect our clients time as well. We do -not- offer boarding at this time.
