Dear friends and clients of the Dog Spa. This is an update. This is Stephen, Susan’s husband.

As so many of you know, Susan has been thrust into an auto-immune crisis that has entirely disabled her life and vocation. Initially, the doctors spoke of Lupus and then it migrated to a rare kind of vasculitis (known as MPA). The testing and appointments continue.

I can say that, compared to a few weeks back, Susan is in a place of more strength and well-being; however, the pathway towards wellness remains a long one. 😢😢 She has undergone several rounds of IV Infusion therapy and now a kind of Infusion that is used in chemo therapy treatment. She doesn’t have cancer; however, because her immune system is in hyper-drive, this treatment is used to try and settle down her system.

In what is the most devastating of news, Susan has been informed that she is going to lose the ends of a few of her fingers. This is just awful news for her and for her beloved vocation. Apparently, it could have been even worse. 6-12 months has been mentioned as a timeframe; whatever the length of recovery time, she knows it will be long and will require extensive therapy.

In a sea of unknowns, Susan remains hopeful that she will groom again. She is thankful to each of you for your kindness, prayers, positive intentions. She sends love and kisses to your precious babies. Please stay tuned to this page for updates.

Dear clients and friends of the Dog Spa. This is Stephen, Susan’s husband. It is with her permission that I write this post on her behalf. Very recently, and unexpectedly, Susan experienced a life-altering medical condition that has rocked her world and that of her beloved business; everything has had to shut down and her only focus has been to find a pathway towards wellbeing again.

As for a return-to-work date and the resumption of her business, there are only unknowns right now; however, please stay tuned to the Dog Spa page for updates as they come in. Susan understands that necessity means that other options for our fur-babies need to be explored as hair and nails don’t stop growing.

Right now it’s enough for her to just get through each day. Thank you everyone for your understanding and kindness.

Thank goodness these babes know how to make friends. These three have been emotional support dogs to each other.
These little dollies are in desperate need of a family and you can clearly see they love other dogs!!!
If you’ve been thinking of making an addition to your family, please visit The London Animal Care Centre. The shelter is filling up with unwanted dogs and they are here way too long waiting for a family 😔.
