Hey, friends! I know it's been a minute since I've posted, but I wanted to let everyone know some very exciting news!

For a while, I've been working way more than I wanted to, and was left feeling very drained and very sore (I live with several chronic pain conditions), so I just haven't had the energy at the end of the day to post pictures of the dogs I've been grooming. And yes, I have been grooming. A lot!

Recently, Spaw For Pets has brought on another groomer, meaning that we will now have grooming available 6 days per week (Monday to Saturday, excluding holidays, of course)! Basically, if the store is open, a dog groomer will be in or available.

Brenna Smith (shown in pictures) will be joining the team on July 11th. She will be grooming up to 3 dogs per day, starting at 9 am, when Raw For Pets Canada opens.

No worries, though, I'll still be working 3 days per week (Monday to Wednesday, excluding holiday Mondays), still doing 2 dog grooms per day, at 10 and and 2 pm, as is the case now. The only thing changing is that I won't be working 5 days per week anymore, and I'm very happy about that!

Brenna will be taking Thursday to Saturday each week, with her groom times starting when the store opens, at 9 am. Here's a little information about Brenna, if you'd like to book an appointment with her:

Brenna has always grown up around dogs, and has always had a passion for dog grooming. Since she was 12 years old, she has worked in dog shows for trick and sport, and still works and travels for dog shows with her rescue dog, Moment.

When Brenna was 14, she started working at a grooming shop as a bather. Between the dogs shows and bathing, Brenna acquired lots of handling and behavioural modification skills. She has a solid 5 years of experience, but knows that she still has much to learn!

Brenna is a Certified Dog Groomer, as she has successfully completed her dog grooming course at an Ontario Trade School locally. Once she completed her schooling, Brenna started working as a groomer full time.

I look forward to working with Brenna, and hope you all will help fill up her calendar too! I know there are a lot of you that prefer Saturday appointments, and we now have you covered!

Hi friends. I need to find a few things, and I'd rather buy used stuff so, here's what I need:

First, it's coming into winter, and I will be needing to make some fire starter cups soon, but to do so I need wax. If you could save up all your wax scraps from candles for me, that would be greatly appreciated;

Second, I'm looking for about 45 inches of lower kitchen cabinets / bathroom vanity to fill a space that I'd considered putting seats in, but have changed my mind. I have zero intention of having someone join me in the bus, so I have no need for passenger seats. This space will be better used getting kitchen things off my counter top, making the space look less cluttered.

WoooooHooooo! Trip booked!

January 2 through January 16th (2 WEEKS!!) I will be in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico! Flying out of TO on a direct flight to Puerto Vallarta, and the same / reverse on return (non-stop PV to TO). I do not like stops or plane transfers, so I've avoided those.

This is my first solo, international travel, and while I'm excited about it, I'm also a tad nervous. The good thing is, I'm going to a place where I know someone! Luke LaRue and his husband reside very close to Puerto Vallarta, so I'll have people I know, just in case. Get ready, Luke! ;) I'm also looking very forward to meeting Luke's partner, Randy, finally!

I have also booked cancellation insurance and such. I'm not interested in losing the money for this vacation. I've been there before, and it's financially painful, so I've avoided that too.

Of course, I will be unable to groom dogs during that period, so we'll have to arrange our schedule to accommodate everyone as much as possible. Fortunately, there's still plenty of time, and nothing already booked ahead.

While there, I'll look at RV parks for places that I might be able to take the bus to in winter 2026.

I'm SO excited!!

I think this is a GREAT idea!

May long weekend reminder for all of us campers! Jot down your campsite # and cell on a dollarstore tag, and attach to your pupper’s collar with other tags. Even the most responsible of us can have a doggo who slips a leash or gets startled and bolts. Even if no cell service in the camp area, this allows other to bring the rascally runner back to your site.

Good morning friends. I will be offline for the weekend, as I'm going to visit my sister in Toronto, and I'm not taking my laptop.
