Allow us to introduce Holly, a treasured female previously employed for breeding purposes until two years ago. Afterwards, she was placed in the care of an elderly gentleman. Once in our care, our organization ensured Holly received necessary spaying. As she approaches seven years of age, Holly is now seeking a forever home. Her personality is characterized by enthusiasm, playfulness, and a strong affinity for human companionship.

Meet Wiggle Worm and Travis Tritt, both at Fanshawe Park Road Petsmart!

Pink, brown, and white toe beans? Yes please! These two are as sweet as Neapolitan ice cream 🍓🍫🍦.

In today’s schedule, the energetic Wiggle Worm (black&white) played with his calmer younger brother Travis Tritt (tabby). They wrestled each other as fiercely as tiny tigers, ate a big big meal, and demanded endless pets (with dramatic headbutts of course).

After a long day in their full-time job of being ridiculously cute, they’re taking a well deserved break. Sleep well little nuggets.

❤️TOTAL AMOUNT of vet costs to date is $3500. Chancho is one lucky kitty but still not out of the woods❤️ Salt has received $780. in donations and appreciates anything anyone can give big or small. We are so happy when we can help save an animals life that would otherwise have been euthanized due to lack of funds. It is a crazy, ridiculous world out there where animals dont stand a chance!

Update! Chancho is recovering and being closely monitored at our vet As you can see the foreign objects were quite large and lodged in his intestines. The vet also thinks he had complications with a urinary blockage.

Update Surgery has been successful but Chancho really had a rough go. The picture below shows the foreign objects.

Meet CHANCHO❤️

S.A.L.T Rescue received an urgent call to assist this charming boy, who was taken to urgent care on Sunday after experiencing persistent vomiting. After conducting X-rays and blood tests, it was discovered that CHANCHO had ingested a foreign object, with an initial treatment quote of $10,000. Despite the owner struggling to secure funds the cost was too much! S.A.L.T Rescue took him in and was determined to save him. CHANCHO wastransferred to our trusted veterinarian for surgery. We expect the final cost to be lower, but still a significant burden. We are appealing for donations to support CHANCHO's medical care. If you are able to donate, please send your contribution to

Here is a note from Dr Ellen regarding a diabetic cat that we are looking for a rescue re-home for (or perhaps a courtesy posting, while Oliver is staying at Ellen's home!). Please share widely!

Here is my synopsis on Oliver.

Oliver was surrendered for euthanasia this past week but I couldn’t bring my self to euthanize one of the nicest cats I’ve ever met. He is reportedly around 8 years old and is recently diagnosed as diabetic. Due to many stressors in his home life, he also developed FIC and his urine contained blood, but this has nearly resolved over the weekend with a low stress environment alone.

As Oliver is recently diabetic, he is not yet on insulin and we are attempting to manage him with a low carb diet at home. He is in need of a dental cleaning with extractions, as he has a sore tooth that makes him drop kibble. So wet food or softened kibble is best.

He isn’t interested in toys or anything else other than being your pal. He just stares into your eyes and chirps at you, loves pets and loves to just sit with you. He is a really chill and relaxed cat. He was previously in a home with a dog and cat but not sure how he would do with future animals although I suspect he would be just fine.

I will sponsor his dental. He has already had full bloodwork, urinalysis and negative FIV/FeLV test.
