It’s heating up! 🌞 Our furry friends feel the heat too — let’s keep them cool, hydrated, and safe this summer! 💧🐶🐱

🚨 Key Safety Tips for Pets in Hot Weather 🚨

1️⃣ Never leave pets in parked cars 🚗❌
Even with windows cracked, temps can skyrocket in minutes — your car can become a furnace! Always leave them at home when running errands.

2️⃣ Walk during cooler hours only 🌅🐾
Stick to early mornings or evenings. Do the 5-second pavement test — if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for paws!

3️⃣ Hydration & shade are a must 💦🌳
Keep bowls full of fresh water (ice cubes are a bonus!), provide shaded areas, and use damp towels or cooling mats to help them chill out.

4️⃣ Know the signs of heat stress ⚠️🥵
Watch for:
• Heavy panting
• Bright red or purple tongue
• Glazed eyes
• Weakness or staggering
• Vomiting or collapse
🚑 Get vet help immediately if you notice any of these!

5️⃣ Protect those paws! 🐾🔥
Avoid hot asphalt or sand. Choose grassy areas, use booties, or wet the ground first.

6️⃣ Sunburn is real 🌞🧴
Light-colored or hairless pets are especially at risk. Apply pet-safe sunscreen on exposed areas like nose, ears, and belly, and consider a UV-protective outfit. 😎
