A year ago we lost one of the greatest drummers of all time to brain cancer, our very own Neil Peart.

In honour of Neil I will be making this print available again for purchase. 100% of all Neil Peart prints will continue to be donated to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada in hopes of spreading awareness and raising funds for research.

Prints will be sold for $27 to represent the 27 Canadians who are told every day they have a brain tumour.

You can order them on my website or via message. Shipping available worldwide.

All other drawings and print sales will continue to have 10% of proceeds donated.

Exciting changes coming to Portraits by Kat in the New Year, including a commitment to donate 10% of proceeds to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada.

Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada is an awesome resource for anyone who is affected by a brain tumour. They provide support, resources and hope from the moment you or a loved one is told "there is a mass."

This year for a school project a colleague Alexander Miller and I were able to raise over $1500 by selling prints and raffle tickets for a drawing of Neil Peart and it really got me thinking I can do more. I look forward to increasing efforts to raise awareness and funds for brain tumour research in 2021.

Happy New Year!

Nothing short of amazing, these birds are so striking with their massive size and unique looks. They represent spiritual renewal and like literally purify decay. I always see them as signs of hope in the sky and have a collection of memories where they appear exactly when needed. That is why turkey vultures are my favourite animal. This is a rare use of pastel for me.

Every so often I meet a wonderful person who pulls me out of my graphite shell to help recreate their special memories in paint. I am forever grateful to become a part of these sentiments and will forever cherish the meaning and journey they represent.

A portrait I did of Stephen Wiltshire ( )...one of my favourite artists. If you haven't heard of him I'd get googling, this savant is a huge inspiration to me with his quick street views. He can look at a scene for a matter of seconds and remember every detail. Very interesting man and I LOVE his style.
This portrait was done on grey paper and drawn with pencil and white charcoal.
