As you may know, Saskatchewan, our hometown, is stuggling with devastating wildfires and communities have been evacuated from their beloved homes. 😢

We’ve decided to partner up with the Saskatchewan SPCA + the Canadian Red Cross and provide pet food assistance to evacuees. With the help of our carrier teams, jaystransportation and lodextransportsk, we were able to provide them with 72 000 lb of pet food for the ones in need. 🫶

Individuals can access the Pet Food Bank at the SaskSPCA Office located at 511 45th Street West in Saskatoon. The hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. If these hours are not convenient, please call 306-382-7722 to arrange an alternative time.

When accessing the program, evacuees will need to provide their name, home community, and the number of pets they have in their care.

Each eligible evacuee will receive a two-week supply of pet food (for both cats and dogs) for each pet they have. If they require more food, they can return to the Pet Food Bank every two weeks.

Organizations in need of pet food assistance can reach out to Josh Hourie, SaskSPCA Communications Coordinator, at 639-571-7722 or via email at [email protected].

Food will be available as long as the stockpile allows.

If you want to make a donation; the Government of Canada will match donations to the Canadian Red Cross 2025 Saskatchewan Wildfires Appeal from May 30 to June 29, 2025.

Every $1 donated will become $2 to support the families and individuals most affected by the wildfires.
