The morning after the snowstorm … dogs were super happy, horses and humans not that much. But we should have enough snow now for tracking cross country skiing trails again soon 😎

Lately @ 9 Finger Ranch … preparing for the next season that shall not be named yet ❄️
1️⃣ Eli is a busy guy. Lots of supervising to do!
2️⃣ Somebody (Moony on the right side) had to constantly stick her foot into the mesh fence … enforcement was needed
3️⃣ Fixing little things here and there
4️⃣ Ally’s new favourite spot - mainly because the other two dogs don’t bother her up there
5️⃣ Eli monitoring the manure spreading process
6️⃣ Coco enjoying a trip to town
7️⃣ Wood splitting - another task that requires zero dog, much to Eli’s disappointment
8️⃣ Striker being curious and saying hello (rare occurrence)

Great times in Riding Mountain National Park! We just took guests from Germany for an overnight ride to Gunn Lake on the weekend 😍 It’s so pretty there at the moment with all the colours!

Shoutout to the parks crew - Gunn Lake Trail has just been mowed, Baldy Lake Trail and Central Trail have been cleared off trees and firewood was refilled in the camp. Thanks for your hard work!

Unique might be it

Situated 12.5 km (8 miles) northeast of Rossburn among rolling hills and lakes, 9 Finger Ranch offers a working cattle ranch, guided horseback rides on the ranch and into Riding Mountain National Park on our laid-back Tennessee Walking horses, and affordable accommodation through our affiliation with Hostelling International (HI) Canada. Not only are we the only HI accommodation in Manitoba, we are also the only HI ranch accommodation in Canada.

Life has given us all kinds of opportunities, each of us having grown up in Germany on family farms, taking the best decision ever to immigrate to Canada and finally settling in this beautiful part of Manitoba. We accept the challenge of providing a great vacation, being welcoming hosts for an array of guests all over the world and taking you on unforgettable adventures on horseback. We are looking forward to meeting you and having you mark your dot on our world map!
