Aujourd’hui, c’est la Journée mondiale vétérinaire.
Et cette année, on parle de nous comme des
**Gardiens de la nourriture et de la santé.**
Ce mot m’a fait prendre une pause...
Parce que dans notre réalité, il y a aussi autre chose dont on parle moins.
Cette tendance à beaucoup donner.
À être impliqués et offrir notre attention, notre savoir, notre énergie.
Et parfois… à ne plus trop savoir où on se situe là-dedans.
Je pense que plusieurs d’entre nous connaissent cet endroit.
On appelle souvent ça la fatigue de compassion.
Mais, pour moi, ce mot n’a jamais résonné tout à fait juste.
Avec le temps, avec mon parcours, j’en suis venue à le voir autrement.
Ce n’est pas la 𝘾𝑶𝙈𝑷𝘼𝑺𝙎𝑰𝙊𝑵 qui épuise. La 𝘾𝑶𝙈𝑷𝘼𝑺𝙎𝑰𝙊𝑵 est vibrante et aimante, douce et forte en même temps.
C’est l’𝑨𝙏𝑻𝘼𝑪𝙃𝑬𝙈𝑬𝙉𝑻.
Le fait de vouloir tellement aider et donner… que ça devient lourd à porter. Et qu'on a plus envie de continuer.
C’est ce que j'appelle maintenant 𝑭𝘼𝑻𝙄𝑮𝙐𝑬 𝑫'𝑨𝙏𝑻𝘼𝑪𝙃𝑬𝙈𝑬𝙉𝑻.
Le texte que je partage aujourd’hui,
c’est un morceau de ce chemin-là.
Un passage de ma vie,
comme humaine… et comme vétérinaire.
Aujourd’hui, je ne suis plus "Sauveur".
Je me reconnais davantage comme une 𝙂𝑼𝘼𝑹𝘿𝑰𝙀𝑵𝑵𝙀 de la santé et de la vitalité des animaux dont je m'occupe.
Et ça a changé ma façon d’être, profondément.

Today is World Veterinary Day.
And this year, we are described as Guardians of animals' food and health.
That word made me pause…
Because in our reality, there is also something else we speak about less.
This tendency to give so much. To be deeply involved, offering our attention, our knowledge, our energy. And sometimes… to lose sight of where we stand within all of this.
I believe many of us know this place. We often call it compassion fatigue.
But for me, that word has never quite felt right.
With time, and through my own journey, I’ve come to see it differently.
It is not 𝘾𝑶𝙈𝑷𝘼𝑺𝙎𝑰𝙊𝑵 that exhausts us.
𝘾𝑶𝙈𝑷𝘼𝑺𝙎𝑰𝙊𝑵 is vibrant and loving — both gentle and strong at the same time.
It is 𝑨𝙏𝑻𝘼𝑪𝙃𝑬𝙈𝑬𝙉𝑻. The desire to help and give so much, that it becomes heavy to carry.
Until, at some point, we no longer feel able to continue.
This is what I now call 𝑨𝙏𝑻𝘼𝑪𝙃𝑬𝙈𝑬𝙉𝑻 𝑭𝘼𝑻𝙄𝑮𝙐𝑬 .
The text I am sharing today is a piece of that journey. A moment from my life, as a human… and as a veterinarian.
Today, I am no longer a “Savior.” I see myself more as a 𝙂𝑼𝘼𝑹𝘿𝑰𝘼𝑵 of the health and vitality of the animals I care for.
And it has profoundly changed the way I am.
