🌟 Meet Dr. Alex Horner! 🌟

Born and raised in Calgary, Dr. Horner graduated with her DVM from the University of Melbourne in Australia. During her training, she completed externships with Theriogenologists across Australia, New Zealand, and Canada, deepening her passion for reproductive health.

After working in private practice in Alberta, including at Springbank Pet Hospital, she was accepted into the American Kennel Club Small Animal Theriogenology residency at Colorado State University in 2021. There, she earned her Master’s degree in clinical reproduction, focusing on canine endometrial organoids to study reproductive pathology. Dr. Horner also contributed to a clinical trial on treating persistent breeding-induced endometritis in canines.

This July, she proudly passed her board certifying exam for the American College of Theriogenology! 🐾✨

Dr. Horner is dedicated to safeguarding genetic diversity in purebred dogs and educating pet owners about reproductive health. In her spare time, she enjoys conformation and dog sports with her Black Russian Terrier, and Sealyham Terriers.

We’re so lucky to have her on our team!
