Good morning Claw Footers and Happy New Year!!
I just wanted to give all of you a Grooming up date.
I am still not able to groom or do nail trims.
When and if I am able to return to grooming I will post it here.
If I am able to return it will be with select grooms.
Here is a little about my injury: this was not simply a “broken finger” this was an IMPLOSION of my finger specifically my middle joint. The first photo is how much I can actually bend that finger on my own with the white brace for assistance. The black brace is to keep my top knuckle from bending like the 3rd photo this is called a swan neck and happens more when I’m trying to bend the middle knuckle. The last photo shows how much that middle joint is being hyperextended by tendons as well as scar tissue from where the skin ruptured and where the pin was placed. I more than likely have another surgery coming to remove the scar tissue and while under sedation they will forcibly bend that finger or release sheaths to help facilitate movement.
I am doing all I can to get this finger moving again this includes massage therapy and physical therapy 2 times a week. My physical therapist are also working closely with my plastic surgeon.
All in all I have no return date yet.
