My husband and I started making our own maple 🍁 syrup 27 years ago in the Gilbert Plains area. I began selling it at the Market, along with baking and fresh produce. Over time, as we got older and our kids moved away, we reduced the number of maple trees we tap. Because of that, I don’t sell maple syrup at the market as often anymore, but I still keep some and like to add it into my baking. My Maple syrup bbq sauces are always a hit at market.

I make old-fashioned recipes that were passed down from parents, grandparents, and even great-grandparents. I use simple ingredients and try to grow , harvest, wild forage or buy as much as I can from local growers in the Parkland region.

I also love gardening, and each year I grow and tend to my garden until harvest. I enjoy foraging for berries and fruit in the bush and nearby areas. I take pride in canning and preserving these foods to share with my family, friends, and the community.
