From Scaredy-Bear to Grooming Star! 🐾🌟
When this little Dog-Bear first walked through my doors, he was carrying so much fear. The table was a scary place, and every touch felt overwhelming for him.
But look at him now! After just three sessions, the transformation is incredible. 🧸✨
This is the “why” behind what I do. It’s not just about the haircut; it’s about the trust. Through a gentle touch, a slow pace, and—most importantly—committed parents who did the homework at home to prep him, he is officially conquering his grooming anxiety.

When patience meets trust, amazing things happen! 🐩💖

When I first met bear, this little sweetheart, she was incredibly nervous. She was so anxious and a little spicy at times. I had to take it very, very slow. The goal was to build trust, not to complete a full groom.
I sent her amazing parents home with some special "desensitization homework" to practice between her appointments, and they truly put in the work! Thanks to their consistency and a gentle, reassuring approach during her grooms, this lovely girl is now doing absolutely fantastic.
After just three visits, she’s completely transformed. She went from being scared to being an absolute star for her grooming! 🌟 I’m so incredibly proud of her.

It’s tough to get a dog comfortable at the groomer without real effort at home.

You can’t expect a relaxed, happy grooming experience if the only visits happen when the coat is severely matted or when brushing has been neglected for months. Switching groomers every single time also destroys any chance of building trust and familiarity.
Consistency is everything.
• Brush regularly at home (daily or every few days, depending on coat type) to prevent mats, keep the skin healthy, and make grooming sessions shorter and less stressful.
• Take any “homework” your groomer gives seriously, whether it’s specific brushing techniques, tools, or handling exercises.
• Work with your team: your vet (for any anxiety or health issues), a positive-reinforcement trainer (especially for fear or desensitization work), and a consistent groomer who understands your dog’s needs.

You build a confident groom dog through action, not hope.

Start desensitization early: gentle handling of paws, ears, face, and body paired with high-value treats; introduce grooming tool sounds and vibrations gradually (like a quiet electric toothbrush or clipper buzz at low volume); keep sessions short and positive so your dog learns that touch and grooming mean good things. Regular, low-pressure visits to the same groomer (even just for quick “happy visits” with treats and no full groom) help a lot.
It takes time and patience, but the payoff is huge: a dog who walks into the salon tail-wagging instead of trembling. You’re doing the right thing by stressing this. Too many owners skip the hard parts and then wonder why their dog hates it.

This beautiful review brought me to tears today. Little Wendy 🐾✨ is one of my favourite dogs and it’s been such a joy watching her grow and her grooming sessions become less and less stressful for her every time. She also has the most amazing dog parents a pooch could ever ask for 🐾✨💕🥰 Alder

This is what she wrote-Wendy has been grooming our dog — who is also named Wendy! — since she was a puppy. Puppy Wendy struggled with having her nails done and was very stubborn about it. She would jackrabbit her legs and wriggle and sometimes even scream when we got anywhere near her with nail clippers. Other people told us that this is really common for corgis and warned that it might always be a problem. We signed Wendy up for the “puppy’s first groom” sessions, which were slow introductions to all the parts of grooming. Wendy the groomer also gave us a ton of advice and coaching for things we could do at home to help Wendy the puppy get used to things. Now, Wendy is great with getting her nails done, bathing, brushing, drying. We think all of the practice with grooming has also helped her be better about getting handled at the vet’s. We think it’s been part of her training and has helped make her a calmer, more resilient dog. We also feel good knowing that if she ever *needs* to go to a groomer, it won’t be a massive panic attack.

We love that Wendy the groomer is kind and patient — to animals and people! — and that she’s so invested in the bigger picture of the dog’s wellbeing, which includes how they feel about getting groomed. From our experience, I’d say that working with Wendy the groomer has been a great investment in helping us raise our dog. It’s also a huge treat to walk in with a dog who just rolled in rotten crab juice and leave with a beautiful, happy puff ball. I’m obsessed with how nice Wendy’s tail looks after a groom ✨💖Thank you, Grateful Dog and Wendy!!! 🐾✨

Spring is here and I’m booking up fast! 🌸🐾💕

Shedding season is officially in full swing! If your house is currently full of hair from those sweet fluff balls blowing their coats, I’d love to help with that.

My calendar is filling up quickly, I take my time with every pup to make sure they feel relaxed and comfortable throughout their groom. That one-on-one time is so important to me because it keeps the experience positive and low-stress for your dog.

To make sure I can keep providing that calm, dedicated care:

* Current Clients: I’m now prioritizing those on a regular grooming schedule. If you haven’t booked in a while, definitely reach out soon to secure your spot!

* New Clients: I’m still welcoming a few new friends for now, but I’ll be moving to a waitlist very soon.
