Working on something cool. Agility equipment, oh yeah!!! Nova's already a pro. Well, she's sitting on it, lol. More equipment to come? If anyone has any spare stuff we can use to make more, that'd be great. Lumber, tunnels, PVC pipe, you name it. We'd really appreciate it.

Success Story: Sandy the Mini Dachshund 🐾
Meet Sandy — a 5-year-old Miniature Dachshund with a big personality and a brave heart. Rehomed at age 2 due to barking in an apartment, Sandy came with a history of limited socialization, poor care, and a lot of uncertainty. Within a month of her new home, she began showing signs of reactivity toward dogs and people, even from the car. Recently, she had a minor incident where she nipped a neighbor’s pant leg — no skin contact, but a clear sign she needed support.

This week, I had the pleasure of working with Sandy and her dedicated human. I was greeted at the door with a few barks, but what I saw wasn’t aggression — it was timidity. Breeds like Dachshunds often bark out of uncertainty, and with patience and the right tools, we can help them build confidence and trust.

✨ What We Worked On:

Engagement & Focus: Using food motivation and positive markers like ā€œyesā€ and clickers to reinforce calm behavior.

Owning the Front Door: Helping Sandy feel secure in her space.

Structured Walks: Practicing leash techniques, long-line work, and ā€œplaceā€ commands.

Confidence Building: Watching her tail slowly untuck and her trust grow was pure magic.

By the end of our session, Sandy was sitting and staying like a champ — a testament to her human’s hard work and consistency. Sometimes, all it takes is a little fine-tuning to unlock a dog’s potential. šŸ¶šŸ’Ŗ

✨ Today was a win for patience, respect, and connection.

I walked into Mokosh’s home and was greeted with just a couple barks—not fear, just cautious curiosity. She tucked herself behind her human for safety, eyes wide and ears alert. But what stood out was her bravery: a shy but inquisitive soul, assessing from a distance but willing to see what trust could feel like.

Rather than approach, I gave her space—because with timid dogs, progress comes from respect, not pressure. In just ten minutes, her defences settled. She took treats from my hand, responded to engagement cues like touch, focus, leave it, find it, and we layered ā€œyesā€ and a clicker marker for added clarity and reinforcement.

After building structure at the door—sitting before and after—we stepped outside for a walk. Mokosh was a rockstar on leash: grounded, present, and responsive. A couple dogs passed from a distance, and with a gentle redirect, we kept the calm intact. That’s growth.

Her human is her anchor—someone deeply committed to helping Mokosh build confidence, face fears, and explore the world. One day, Mokosh will walk through fire if asked. Today, she walked through uncertainty and came out more resilient. That’s a win.

If you have a reactive or timid dog, I can help. Together, we can rewrite their story one moment at a time. šŸ’™

šŸ’– From Heartache to Healing: June Bug’s Journey šŸ’–
Meet June Bug, a sweet and spirited Aussie-Pit mix who’s still in her adolescence and learning how to navigate the world. She’s full of energy, love, and a little mischief—especially when she tries to ā€œherdā€ her human by staying one step ahead. But behind that playful nature is a deeper story.

June Bug’s human became her sole caregiver after the loss of their partner and June Bug’s original co-parent. In the midst of grief, this incredible person stepped up with courage and compassion, reaching out for help to give June Bug the best life possible.

Over three sessions together, we’ve focused on building engagement, impulse control, and most importantly—confidence. And wow, what a transformation. Both June Bug and her human are growing stronger, more connected, and more confident with each passing week.

🧠 Trauma Affects Dogs and Humans Alike
Loss, change, and uncertainty leave marks on all of us. But with patience, guidance, and love, we don’t just recover—we excel. June Bug’s story is proof that healing is possible, and that the bond between dog and human can be a powerful force for growth.

🐾 How I Help
I work with dogs and their humans to:

Build trust and confidence

Address reactivity and behavioral challenges

Create routines that support emotional wellbeing

Foster deep, lasting connections

If you’re facing challenges with your dog—whether it’s trauma, reactivity, or just the chaos of adolescence—I’m here to help. Together, we can turn struggle into strength.

Let’s build something beautiful. šŸ’«

🐾 Building Confidence, One Paw at a Time 🐾
Meet Duke, a majestic mastiff who was recently rehomed and came with a few challenges—reactivity to men, other dogs, and unfamiliar stimuli. His new family reached out for guidance, and we got to work on the essentials: engagement, recall, place, impulse control, and most importantly—confidence building.

During our first session, Duke was cautious and unsure. But after a walk through neutral territory and some gentle, structured interaction, his defenses softened. He began to trust, engage, and even relax around me—something that hadn’t happened easily before.

This morning, Duke had his best encounter yet. His human followed the training protocol and placed themselves between Duke and a male visitor. Duke barked once, then settled in calmly within minutes. He spent the afternoon lying peacefully at their feet. That’s real progress. That’s the power of trust.

🧠 Why It Works
We use science-based, non-coercive methods rooted in behaviorology to help dogs feel safe and understood. Every dog deserves a chance to thrive, and every human deserves the tools to help them get there.

šŸ“† The 3-3-3 Rule for Rehomed Dogs
If you’ve recently adopted a dog, keep this in mind:

3 Days to decompress

3 Weeks to start learning your routine

3 Months to feel truly at home

Patience and consistency are key. Duke’s journey is just beginning, and it’s already inspiring.

If you’re navigating reactivity, fear, or uncertainty with your dog, I’m here to help. Let’s build confidence together—one paw at a time. šŸ¶šŸ’Ŗ

🐾 Progress, Not Perfection – Ms. Potato’s Journey 🐶✨

Meet Ms. Potato — a pup with a big personality and even bigger feelings when it comes to other dogs. Her reactivity used to feel overwhelming: barking, pulling, and tuning out everything (even treats!) when another dog came into view. But her humans didn’t give up — they showed up, stayed consistent, and trusted the process. šŸ’Ŗ

During our recent session, Potato absolutely crushed it! We focused on calm engagement, impulse control, and building her confidence through structured games and routines. She’s learning to tune in to her humans, not just the chaos around her. And the best part? Her people are doing an incredible job — patient, loving, and committed. ā¤ļø

Reactivity isn’t a failure. It’s communication. And with the right plan, support, and practice, dogs like Potato can learn new ways to feel safe and respond calmly.

If your dog struggles with reactivity, barking, or leash frustration, I’d love to help. You’re not alone — and your dog is capable of amazing things. šŸ•šŸ’«

🐾✨ Khai the Superstar & Nova the Calm Coach ✨🐾
This weekend I had the pleasure of working with Khai and his amazing human on a leash reactivity issue that was happening in their front yard. When dogs walked by, Khai would bark intensely and struggle to settle—classic signs of territorial and frustration-based reactivity.

Using engagement training, impulse control exercises, and a calm canine role model (my dog Nova šŸ•), we helped Khai shift from reactive to responsive. By the end of our session, both dogs were calmly sharing a raised platform, practicing ā€œplaceā€ like pros. šŸ’Ŗ

This wasn’t just a win for Khai—it was a huge achievement for his guardian, who showed dedication, patience, and trust in the process. Together, we built the foundation for calmer walks, better focus, and a more peaceful front yard experience.

If your dog struggles with reactivity, especially in specific locations like the yard or on leash, I can help. Behavior change is possible—and it starts with understanding, not punishment.
