Hello Pathfinders, I am posting this on behalf of a well known client. Unfortunately Lizzie isn't doing well now that her parents have welcomed a baby into their family. She has always been a sensitive, anxious girl, but the addition of a baby has been stressing Lizzie. Lizzie does have fear reactivity when she gets overwhelmed. It's an unfortunate situation, so her family is looking to help Lizzie thrive by finding her a new home without children as their lifestyle has changed.

Lizzie is an Australian Shepherd / Border Collie mix, age 5. She is a sensitive girl with some reactivity when she doesn't feel safe. She has stayed at the Pathfinder Ranch many times and we understand her behaviour and needs. She does really well in our care. She needs a calm home with no children. She does really well with structure, routine and plenty of exercise. She is smart and affectionate. She can have a suitable dog sibling. She requires slow introductions with dogs and people. The key is to respect her threshold (personal space) and let her know she is safe. In the right environment she will thrive and Chantale at Pathfinder can help teach her new owner how to understand her behaviour, read her body cues and support her. Lizzie is healthy with no previous health concerns, she is spayed, and her checkups/vaccines are all up to date.

Dear Pathfinders,

I've just received a copy of an incredibly nasty letter that was sent to all our clients by some recent ex-employees. They have stolen client emails and are trying to sabotage myself and Pathfinder by portraying themselves as "whistleblowers".

I'm taking this action very seriously and will be in contact with authorities, legal council and proactively the SPCA as I am not going to let anyone think your pet is ever at risk while in our care. If I was a client reading all the things being "reported", I would be absolutely horrified, and if it were true, I would never want my pet to return.

Now, many of you have known me in the context of Pathfinder for years. I've earned your trust to care for your pet, ensuring it's safe, loved, never in distress or at risk of any harm. I can share with complete authenticity that I have never broken your trust. If there has been any issue, I’ve taken accountability. The change in staff is a good thing and I look forward to moving forward with a team that can uphold Pathfinder's values.

I've never been through this type of experience with employees, so I'm taking it one step at a time. It's very hurtful and emotional for me as this is an attack on my integrity, reputation and livelihood... everything I've worked to create and more importantly, it threatens the relationship I have with you and your pet. What I can guarantee is that I will always have your "pet's back" and you never have to worry if it's being mistreated in any way. You have trusted me and Pathfinder with your pet's care and I want to continue to earn your trust every day.

If you want to ask anything, come tour and look behind the scenes, whatever you need in order to know deep in your gut that I'm not hiding anything ... I will do it. I am very passionate about the service we provide and take great pride in being a certified animal care provider. Your pet is family and I hope you can continue to trust me with its care for many years to come.

A sad farewell to our Pathfinder friend, Henry. Henry passed away unexpectedly at home this week from an undiagnosed health condition. We have so many special memories of Henry at the ranch, as he was a weekly regular. We will miss our sensitive playful buddy. Our deepest sympathy goes to his family Chris & Pat.
