🐶 COURTESY POST – Looking for a Loving Home for Lucy ❤️

Please note: This dog is not in the care of our rescue. We are sharing this post on behalf of her owner to help her find the right home. If you're interested, please contact the owner directly using the information at the end of this post.

🐾Meet Lucy. The 25lb ball of smiles and eagerness you have been searching for. Lucy is a 6 month old female Australian Cattle dog cross. She still has some growing left to do, but I don't anticipate she will get much bigger. Lucy has a true love for the outdoors and has been up for any activity or adventure I throw at her. In her short time with me Lucy has been camping multiple times, hiking various terrain, paddleboarding, swimming, she has visited Silverstar Mountain for an event and been to Revelstoke for the patios. She enjoys the activity of farmers markets and indoor shopping venues/cafes that allow dogs. Lucy has been around people with diverse abilities, communication styles and individuals in wheelchairs/power devices and remains her happy go lucky self.

🐕Currently Lucy spends her days as my sidekick as we adventure around the Okanagan. She gets walks daily - distance and slow sniff walking) as well as engagement that keeps her brain exercised. She will do best with someone who understands the importance of providing enrichment opportunities other that throwing a ball and sidewalk walks. She does well driving in the car and quickly settles into her regular spot, periodically sitting up to see where we are.

Lucy has been crate trained and has spent up to 6 hours in her crate, without any issues (I monitor via video feed). When she does need to spend time alone for an extended period, I will provide an enrichment toy that takes her approx 45 minutes to finish and then she quickly settles in to sleep/rest. She is provided with 1 crate appropriate chew option in the crate. Lucy has never soiled in her crate and exits calmly while she makes her way to the door to go outside.

🐶Lucy is a confident dog who is happy meeting new people and animals daily. She is very observant and can often be found sitting quietly watching something (farm animals, bugs, neighbors). But she can also go for what seems like forever on adventures, often eagerly waiting with a smile while I pack up.

🌟Lucy is such a funny, goofy ball of energy and I think the ideal home would be full of the same. Lucy needs people who are confident in dog behavior/training and also have an understanding of what having a working breed type dog means. Lucy was born to be a sidekick for the adventurous types - heading out on some forest service roads - sidekick. Camping at a provincial park - sidekick. A day on the water - pack your sidekicks lifejacket! Lucy is not an apartment dog and needs a home with some property she can run off leash and get the zoomies out.

I have so much more I can say about how awesome this dog is, I could go on forever. I am rehoming Lucy for reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with her, her behavior, characteristics or any event. I am able to explain the situation if the right person or family expresses interest in Lucy. This is my first time ever having to rehome one of my animals and I am only considering the ideal homes.

If you feel drawn to Lucy and want to know more about her, please reach out via email but give 24 hours for response. Willing to travel within BC for the perfect match.

🏠Her ideal home information:
The ideal home is one where she can be included as a true member of the family and allowed to be her goofy self. Lucy is a very active dog and LOVES being outside. Lucy should have a yard to be able to run out her zoomies leash free while still learning her recall skills. She is a true companion dog and enjoys being with her people; car rides, paddleboarding, beach days, hiking, camping, swimming, community walks and any other adventure that gets thrown her way. Lucy should have a person who has an understanding of dog behavior and especially a working breed dog. She needs someone who is willing to continue her training as she loves learning. Someone who will also commit to working her brain and her body as it keeps her less desirable breed traits in check. Lucy could do well learning the ropes from an older dog if there was one already in the home. Lucy enjoys children and has been around them since she was 8 weeks old, she is still learning not to jump up to greet people so older children might be better matched.

💙 COURTESY POST – Looking for a Loving Home for Sully & Nuka 💙

Please note: These dogs are not in the care of our rescue. We are sharing this post on behalf of their owner to help them find the right home. If you're interested, please contact the owner directly using the information at the end of this post.

This is one of the hardest posts I’ve ever had to write.

Due to a recent separation and a very limited amount of time to give them the life they deserve, I’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to find a new home for my two amazing dogs, Sully (3 years old) and Nuka (1 year old).

They are both up to date on all of their vaccinations, spayed/neutered, fully house-trained, and well-behaved in the home. They can usually be left alone without any issues and are happiest when they’re together, so I would love for them to stay as a pair if possible.

Sully and Nuka absolutely love going for walks, playing with each other, swimming at the lake, and curling up on the couch for cuddles after a fun day. They are loving, loyal companions who have brought so much joy into my life, and they deserve a family who has the time and love to give them.

This decision has not been made lightly, and finding the right home is far more important to me than finding one quickly. If you think you could give Sully and Nuka the loving home they deserve, or you know someone who can, please send me a message.

Please share this post to help these two wonderful pups find their forever home. ❤️

❤️ Help Marcel Get the Life-Saving Surgery He Needs

Many of you may remember Marcel, who was known as Thomas during his stay at RDHS.

Since finding his loving forever home, Marcel has been deeply loved and has grown into a playful, affectionate little cat. Sadly, his family recently learned that he has a diaphragmatic hernia, a serious condition that requires specialized surgery in Kelowna. Before surgery, Marcel also needs a cardiac assessment due to a heart murmur, making his treatment even more complex.

The estimated cost of his diagnostics, surgery, hospitalization, and follow-up care is approximately $6,500 CAD.

Marcel's family is doing everything they can to give him the chance to live a long, healthy life.

If you're able to help, no matter how small the donation, it would mean so much to Marcel and his family. And if you aren't able to donate, sharing the fundraiser is another wonderful way to support them.

❤️ Thank you for supporting one of our former shelter cats and the family who loves him so much.🐾

Update: Sophie Has Found a Home! Thank you, everyone!

🐾COURTESY POST🐾
Emergency Rehoming Needed for Sophie💔

Sophie’s owner passed away. She is in Nakusp at a friend’s house, but will be homeless on Saturday morning. They will be coming through Revelstoke Saturday morning.
This was her second owner, the first died early this year. So she has been through sadness. She is timid, but with some love and care she would be a comforting lovely kitty.
She is about 3 years old.
