What 3 yo is this quiet! Steven really is just one of those born broke types. Such a good boy. With less then 5 hours under saddle he had his first canter today. At the end of the ride even let me stand on his back and slide off his rump. Such a trusting horse.

Figured I’d post a bit about our OG horses we use in our trail program!

Each of these horses have earned their place on this farm as their home. They are more then just farm horses, they are family and every one of them means so much to me and our family. I also want to honour 2 of our members that saddly left us to cross over the rainbow bridge a couple years ago.

Jewel
Jewels has seen us all grow up. Jewels was my dad’s horse up until me and my sister decided to steal her. Shes been with us since she was a yearling, she’s now 22. I’ve never met a horse with more patience. Shes the most gentle one of the group, everyone falls in love with her.

Whalen
Whalens been around the block. Hes the horse that built me as a rider. He may not have been the best teampenning or barrel racing horse but he always tried. Whalen is now 15, he’s starting to become an old man. He definitely acts it.

River
River is our newest member to the family, she’s came from a local rescue. We weren’t sure if she was broke when we brought her home but quickly found out she was. She is now my youngest sister Danica’s horse teaching her everything she knows! River is a very kind hearted lady and loves food!

Chilli
Aka Beans is my current main ride. Chilly was broken by me, he taught me a lot in the process. Chilly has excelled at a bit of everything. I’v never had a horse thats had more try for me. We are still learning as we go, trying new sports along the way. Chilly has a very goofy character.

Nevada
Nevada was a ex broodmare we brought into work to be my sorting horse. This mare is very smart and agile. She competed for 2 years and we found out she has ringbone. Although it’s fused and we have been told by the vet shes sound for riding she will no longer be competing. She is happy to just be rode around the farm and trails.

Stella
Stella was my heart horse, she taught me everything when it came to becoming more competitive in the gaming and teampenning/sorting world. Unfortunately we lost her too soon, when she had to be put down Dec 4th 2023.

Neice.
My sister and Is first step up from a pony. She was a saint of a horse and gave us our over cocky confidence on horses we have now. She had to be put down due to old age may 13th 2022.

If it wasn’t for everyone of these horses we wouldn’t be the riders or people we are today. They built me and I owe it all to them.

Who’s looking for a unicorn?
Well here she is! Nevada, is a 9 yo AQHA mare. WYO BLYTHES MAOGE, well bred mare with some old bloodlines. Ranch and cutting bred, this mare is versatile. Shes a been there done that type. Shes team-penned, sorted, been on the flag, been roped off of, done ranch riding clinics, overnight camping, beginner to advanced riding lessons, done barrels, jumps, hunter paces, rode in town (road safe) This horse has seen it all. My 9 yo sister sorted on her last year! Hacks alone or in a group, knows how to take a joke. Is UTD on everything. Beginner safe, but has the training to have some fun on! She’s not a hot horse and is more woah than go but goes when asked. She’s responsive and has buttons. Can be fast when asked for it. Started in the spin, roll backs and a solid stop. She’s 14hh but built like a tank. Her only vice is she’s is partially blind in 1 eye, if I didn’t tell you tho you wouldn’t know.(and again partially not fully blind) Middle of the pecking order! PPEs are more than welcome. A 5 star home is an absolute must! This is a great horse and she deserves to have her own kid (or adult) located in Renfrew ON. Low 5 figures.

We welcome Sage to the farm. This mare came in on consignment as she’s too forward for her current owner. Once we get her back into shape and work she will be available. She’s got a great foundation and Is very athletic. I am super excited to get this mare going, she is gonna make an amazing mount.
