We 🧡 leaves!

Over the years we’ve tried all sorts of mulches and composts, and leaves really are the MVP 🏆

They’re free, they break down into the soil not too fast, not too slow, and they’re abundant in the fall when we’re putting gardens to bed for the winter.

Another plus, not to be overlooked 🍂 If they’re from your yard they aren’t (likely) going to contain w**d seeds that you don’t already have in your garden (unlike straw, manure, compost etc. from outside the city or even a different neighbourhood).

As usual, context matters, but it may be worth a shot in your garden this season!🪱🐛

The first flowers of the season are always for me and I love them so 😻

A little haphazard as I throw together whatever is the first to bloom and test out vase life and cutting times, until there is enough volume to make a batch of bouquets (which should be very soon 🔮☀️)
