Today, October 27th, is officially National Black Cat Day, a day for those to celebrate black cats and raise awareness on how they are often overlooked for adoption.

The day was created by the Cats Protection charity in an attempt to debunk bad luck superstitions, celebrate, and increase the odds of black cats being rescued and loved.

As someone who takes part in cat rescue, I can't stress enough how important spaying/neutering is.

The Regina area rescues are almost always filled and on an intake freeze because of how many babies are being born (whether on the street to strays or being abandoned and becoming street cats themselves).
