Harry Potter event this past weekend followed by bowling. We did not bowl, but went for the sounds and sights. He did pretty good at both events. There were some very narrow aisles in the store the event took place in, so he had to actually follow behind me. Breakables everywhere! Made me so nervous! Went up the stairs and I was making him practice his stair manners (staying beside me not running up) so when we got to the landing between the 2 sets of stairs he hit the brakes and we were stuck! Lol let him sit there for a minute then I put on a happy excited voice and charged up the next set of stairs and he was happy to go. I let him lead a little that time so it wouldn't hinder his confidence. Then we popped into an alcove/balcony for a photo, and totally spooked the people behind us. I had squeezed in behind them, and Cali is usually on my right, so he was next to the wall when I slipped by them. We were there for several seconds before the guy looked down and noticed Cali, and informed his female companion, who jumped a little from shock. Lol she was admiring him while we got the picture taken. Neither of them had noticed us move by them, and couldn't believe there was a giant shepherd sitting right behind them.
On the way back down the stairs he did awesome! No pausing, and stayed right beside me while I took the stairs slower than I normally would because I didn't want him to rush down them. He has a habit of leaping off the second last step that I'm trying to break, and he did great going slow.
Then we tried to go to eat. Oh boy! He would not go under the table, and he wouldn't settle! Puppy tantrum! So we ordered our Slytherin Sandwiches to go (they were great!) and waited for them to be brought out.... And of course during that time he settled down just fine! Typical!
Then it was home for a 2 hour break before we went off to bowling. Again it took him a bit to settle at the table at the bowling alley. He did his under good to start, but then he backed out of it and didn't want to do it again. He decided to lay in the space between my chair, mom's chair, and the aisle. Once he settled again, he was great! Kids running past his head (I was watching closely, making sure he wasn't in the way) loud music and bowling sounds, etc... The only person he reached his nose out into the aisle to sniff was my mom when she walked by. So his positioning left some to be desired but I'll settle for him calming down and relaxing at a table quickly first. Then we can work on the proper position to be calm in. One thing at a time! Not bad for a week shy of 10 months though!
