After some back and forth, we've decided to let Goober, our male Crimson Giant Day Gecko (Phelsuma grandis) find a new home and a new girlfriend! We were planning to introduce him to LSP, however since her passing we have decided not to get another female.
He is flighty as this species tends to be, but he is rather easily convinced with repashy. He also has a small skin slip scar on his right side from his previous home, but it's healed up beautifully.

Merry Christmas everyone! Things have been quiet around here while we take care of everyone and get a couple friends moved around and redesigned. Also, I like to think of these two as friends.

Today during cleans and feeds, we found LSP passed away.
She was our resident female Phelsuma Grandis, who we had gotten quite attached to since rescuing her in 2023.
The menagerie is quiet today.

Excuse the horrible photo quality and empty holding cup, but we found this little hatchling frogbutt Mourning Gecko running around in the adult tank during feeds today! I was in there yesterday and her egg was still intact so she's less than 20 hours old! Once she takes a day to calm down, she will get moved to a decorated 32 ounce container and get some flightless fruitflies and repashy to help her grow big and strong for her new home where she can make more little lady clones. Currently have an established juvenile ready to go, about 2 months old.

Lots of issues with scheduled posts not posting, but we have mourning geckos available here with more hatching in the next few weeks. Enjoy this photo of post dinner Scarbutt as an apology for the lack of posts!

Please take a moment and sign, you don't need an account.
The province already has laws in place to ensure the safety of the public, cities making their own is adding unnecessary hassle to themselves, and unnecessary stress on keepers who will need to rehome or surrender their pets!

Prevent changes to Edmonton's bylaw on exotic pets

Our Mourning gecko trio have been hard at work here laying eggs in inconvenient places, so we should have some hatchlings available any day now! Message us to get notified first when we have captured and established some cute little ladies for your tank.
(I think this is a house gecko in the photo, but my point stands. Slow down, ladies!)

HUGE NEWS!
We welcomed a juvenile male and TWO unrelated older female Lake Chapala Garter snakes (Thamnophis eques obscurus) into the menagerie this past month. This is a rarely seen snake in the hobby these days, with adult females often hitting sizes of around 4 feet with proper care and space, and males staying smaller. They've been raised on frozen/thawed mice and african soft furs, but have started trying new things since joining us here. Offering earthworms, frog legs, certain types of fish, quail, and mice are an easy way to give these guys a varied diet!

Thinking these three will need names, should we do a poll?
