One thing people don’t always realize about grooming?

Sometimes the biggest accomplishment isn’t the haircut.
It’s building trust.

Not every dog walks into the salon confident and relaxed. Some are nervous about dryers. Some hate having their feet touched. Some had a bad experience somewhere else. Some are just puppies trying to figure out the world.

So a lot of grooming is actually about reading body language and helping dogs feel safe.

Sometimes that means slowing down.
Taking breaks.
Talking softly.
Changing our approach.
Or deciding that emotional comfort matters more than getting a “perfect” haircut that day.

Because the goal isn’t just getting through the appointment.
The goal is helping your dog learn that grooming doesn’t have to be scary.
And honestly, owners who consistently bring nervous dogs in — even when it’s hard — are doing something really important. Repeated calm experiences help dogs build confidence over time.

That patience and consistency truly matters more than you know. 🐶💕

Sometimes groomers notice health changes before anyone else does.

And honestly, that’s not because owners aren’t paying attention. Life is busy. You see your dog every single day, so tiny changes can happen gradually without standing out right away.

But groomers? We’re seeing and feeling your dog up close during every appointment.

That means sometimes we notice things like new lumps, irritated skin, ear infections starting, changes in mobility, sore spots, or even tics hiding under all that fluff.

There have been so many times I’ve gently mentioned something to an owner and they’ve said,
“Oh wow… I hadn’t even noticed that.”

And that’s exactly why routine grooming matters so much.
It’s not just about looking cute after an appointment. It’s another set of caring eyes on your dog’s health and comfort.

Honestly, dogs with owners who keep up with regular grooming appointments are often the ones who get little issues caught earlier — and that can make such a big difference long term. 🐾

You know how some dogs act personally offended when you touch their feet? 😂

There’s actually a reason groomers spend so much time down there.
We’re not just trimming nails and calling it a day. We’re checking paw pads for packed hair, mats between the toes, irritated skin, little cuts, foxtails, and signs your pup may be licking their feet too much.

And overgrown nails? Those affect more than people realize.

When nails get too long, they can change the way a dog stands and walks. Over time that can put extra stress on joints and make movement uncomfortable — especially for older dogs.

That’s why regular foot care is one of those small things that quietly makes a BIG difference in a dog’s comfort.

So if you’re keeping up with nail trims and grooming appointments, you’re not just maintaining your dog…

you’re helping them move through life more comfortably.

Absolutely love this series from Contour Dog Grooming. I wanted to share it!

Important Pricing Update

Effective June 10, there will be a price adjustment for grooming services.

Over the past several years, I have continued to invest in education, equipment, products, and providing a personalized one-on-one grooming experience for your pets. To ensure I can continue offering the quality of care and service my clients expect, pricing will be updated to better reflect current grooming rates in our area.

Updated service pricing:
Nail Trim: $20
Nail Grind: $25
Pawicure: $33

Most full grooms will increase by approximately $5. Final pricing will continue to be based on factors such as coat condition, haircut style, size, matting, and the time required to complete the groom.
As always, any pricing adjustments specific to your pet will be discussed at drop-off. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
Thank you for your continued support and trust. I truly appreciate each and every one of you and look forward to caring for your pets for the years to come.
